Yes, essentially the MOTM candidates have the highest karma out of all members that month (who haven't won prior or are not res/orange/purple names)
 
we should vote for the nominees

and vote for the people who vote for the nominees

and vote for those people who vote to vote for the motm nominees

and then the system will be perfect just like the us government.

my buddy got motm shortly after it was introduced and he's never uploaded any media and has like 200 posts.

Now in my mid-20s I can't keep up with the youngins anymore.

But hey, I've been around the block.

Yep, so something she did in the past got a lot of views or something like that this month.

FYI - we're going to be really re-working the Karma system so its simplified and will be a much better representation of a good (and current) member.

Errrka is the shit though. She deserves it.
