Volkl revolt

skied them last year for a few runs through the park. I found them to be pretty stiff, but maybe I'm a pussy. honestly, I'm torn about this ski....

Pro:

For 399, super solid price

Sidewall construction

95mm waist

Cons:

Stiff for butters, IMO

Graphics, IMO
 
The graphics actually aren't that bad, now that i look at them again, but I've been loving the more simply aesthetic of the walls, step and kinks from the last few seasons...

If you want a good park ski, the wall and kink are worth a look. As is the kink. but there are worse options than the revolt for sure

We're you on the preproduction version? thats what a lot of people got to ski while testing and the ski ended up significantly softer for production. I love the ski. I know Ahmet is super stoked on it as well. It's his dream ski. if you like what he dose and ski in that style its the stick for you!

honestly if it ended up softer, it would be a sweet ski. it was february last year, so maybe... Volkl's website talks about having butter zones, and the ski definitely fought my when even i tried to ollie and do smaller features. that said, it could have been operator area... since time durtchsi can butter bentchentlers all day long

Pre production for sure. I didn't see a legit flex of that ski untill like late march or early april last year.
 
Do these ski short or long? For some reason they look like a short ski from the pictures I've seen. Also, what's the flex like? Soft or stiff?

A better way to word it is, do these measure short? For example, is the 173 actually shorter in reality than the factory measurements? Would be hyped if somebody knew

How tall are you?

From my understanding they market it as jib/ buttery ski, but the on I demo'd skied pretty stiff. So I'm not sure if they want it to be stiff and have a lot of 'pop'... Or if they want it to be soft and easy to flex like the blend. Supposedly the actual production version was softer like the blend

I know that might not help you haha

5'8', which is the same height as Ahmet, and he skis the 173. Generally I prefer skis around the 177 length, which is why I was wondering. I find skis which people claim to be softer to be stiff, so I'm trying to find something which is quite flexy if possible. The help is appreciated, especially since very little info on these exists
 
It's kind of awkward, but I wouldn't really ever consider going longer than 178-ish for park skis. It was the 173 or nothing honestly. Anybody know how they flex?
 
bumping this because I can get a great deal, but have never had a chance to ride.

are the 2017s as soft as they are advertised?
