Volkl Ledge/Step

The ledge and the step have the exact same dimensions (111-85-111?) and are both great skis. Obviously they are symmetrical so they are awesome for park use. They both have tip and tail rocker making them great for days where you have some fresh on the ground. Where they differ though is in the construction. The Step is made with carbon stringers giving it way more pop than the ledge, which I have heard is an issue with the ledge. Do your friend a favor and tell him to save the extra $50 to buy step, it'll be worth it.
 
I agree with this statement. I was torn between the step and the ledge earlier this year. I had my local shop do a massive run around to try and source me a pair (volkl made harldy any for the euro market) and when they came in the choice was a total no brainer for me. In comparison the ledge felt flacid and noodley and the step felt forgiving yet rebound well to flexing. Got the steps and im really happy with my choice, theyre really poppy but not overly stiff.
 
Alright, yeah I'm sure the extra 50 will be well worth it, plus symmetry makes the ski really easy to mount, thanks!
