Volant?

i was cruising Skipass.com because they updated their 2010 skis page with a bunch of other companies. Low and behold they have a page for Volant. I thought Volant went out of business a while back. did someone buy them out and start over? did this happen a long time ago and I'm too much of a n00bstick to notice?

Volant is owned by Amer Sports, the parent company of Atomic and Salomon. the company went down and then was brought back as a super high end brand. the skis alone retailed for something like $800-$1100CAD w/o bindings. Amer tried to pair the skis with the Atomic Neox binding that had its own on board diagnositc computer that could tell if the binding was properly engaged. another $800-$1000CAD

the skis are a shitload lighter than they used to be
