Aye.

So, last year i was going to buy a more expensive flash, in the 200-300 range, but opted out to save money.

I just started researching speedlights/flashes again, and found this vivitar. I'm intrigued since it's in the SUB $100 range. The reviews i've looked at so far say its worth the money.

Is there anyone on here who's used this?

What other flashes would you recommend in this sort of bracket?

THANks.

Ah i see.

So is it more for shots that you would meticulously set up?

How difficult is it to get non TTL flash work down? Will I regret not buying one that is TTL?

check out overstock.com if you buy one..i just ordered mine through them for 83.67 or something with free shipping..

Although it is fully manual, I like that because since I am new, it is going to teach me a lot more through using it and setting up shots.

Yeah, I'm not worried that i'm going to be overwhelmed by it or anything, i'm always up for doing things the real and long way (which is why i still shoot film 60-70% of the time)

Have you ever been pissed off that you couldn't get a quick shot you needed though? Like a spur of the moment type deal?

Manual flashes aren't really ideal for "quick" shots, but they're great for setting up off-camera. I'll probably be picking up a 285 or two once I get the money.
