Came out west today and today was my first time ever skiing pow... Damn is it ever hard. I was skiing on salomon shouns today (99mm waist) and was doing alright but felt like it took a lob of effort t bot tip dive and fall. Is it just because this is my first time and I'm not using then right technique or do u guys think I would do better on fatter skis? If I'd be better off on fatter skis, where should I demo/rent some?

Thanks!

Today was honestly one of the best pow days I've ever had at whistler, and its only gunna keep snowing this week. You picked a good time to come ski pow, it was unreal how light and deep it was...99mm is enough but yea you're probably gunna want something a bit bigger than those for skis with early rise or rocker, that arent centermounted. As far as renting i dont have a clue, but im sure you can find something

and yea it really is your technique more than anything, different skis will help, but only to a certain point

Every place that rents has fat skis. Try something like a Bentchetler, Armada JJ, Rossi S7 or Salomon Rocker2... those are probably the "easiest" to ski if you have never been on a ski with rocker before.

Word, thanks guys! And yeah everyone we've talked to are saying that this week has been some of the most snow you guys have had all season. We'll see how things go tomorrow!
