So during this week I will be in SLC for the DECA internationals conference. I'm coming from Ontario, Canada, and I've never been before so i'm coming to NS for some help on places to shop and checkout while i'm there for the week.

Sadly, my school board does not allow students to ski on trips like this because of some bullshit policies and stuff, but im still trying to work on that rule.

So i'm looking for great places to eat, shop and hangout at in Salt lake. Give me some ideas!

btw, is the Saga store in SLC?

Snowbird will be the only place open at the time, might not even be worth bringing your skis.

there are tons of places to go around slc, a lot of good places to eat. Yes, the saga store is in slc and a jiberish store in PC.

yeah i was planning to rent if i went anyways but if thats the case i wont even be bringing my boots.

whats your favorite place to eat in slc that is not uber expensive?

thanks for the reply.

Shit I almost forgot you guys have In n' out! I need to try that out for sure. And to Eheath, we have five guys in my city and I just found that it did not live up to the hype. really expensive and just not mind blowing.. sorry if I hurt your feelings.

If you want a good philly, go to Joni's MY homies are from PA and they said its just as good if not better.

SO while your here you should

Go to Provo and hit tramps, Or Snowgression

Eat at Moochies

Drink a beer at Spedellis

Climb a boulder in Little Cottonwood canyon

Go to Donut Falls

Eat some really dank pasta for lunch at Fin's

Drive to Guardsmen's and find a rail.

Find Thomas Arnell's house and drink box wine.

Hike Ensign and read about mormons

Walk through Gateway and give a bum change

Hike the Milly's

Eat at Lone Star Taqueria

I need an adult to sign for me at the tramp place right? My friend is 18 which would work here but not in the states i dont think.

I'd say your friend would be fine to sign for you.

Or just tell them you forgot your ID, they'll say "MAKE SURE AND BRING IT NEXT TIME"

Then proceed to go ape crazy on some dope tramps

look no further than this list for fine dining in salt lake:

wendy's

taco bell

chick fil-a

carl's jr

rumbi grill

einstein's bagels

costa vida

panda express

subway

chipotle

i'm sure you'll find salt lake just delightful and bursting with culture and exotic food type products!

You've obviously never been to a real SLC restaurant... they have some amazing places to eat around here, it just costs more than 10 bucks a person.

you're right, i should've totally included 5 guys and smash burger! what was i thinking! maybe even noodles & company and pei wei...some classy shit.

I'm talking about REAL restaurants, not bullshit chains.

Market Street Grill, Squatters, Trio, Rodizos (chain but bomb), Christophers, Tony Caputos, Cucina Toscana, Tuchis, Desert Edge, just to name a few.

ichiban sushi is nothing special in terms of sushi but an slc classic on nights with the happy hour special. afterwords get fakes and go to the jackalope, then go to the piehole when youre hammered.

The Jackalope is a great choice for a small bar with really cheap drinks.

Red Ginger is the cheapest sushi around, and still pretty decent quality.

pretty weak recommendations in this thread.........

fast food burger joints???? fuck that

best mexican north of the border?? red iguana.

if you don't go to the red iguana than you've missed the culinary tour of SLC completely.

plenty of great delicious cheap eats in salt lake, but the red iguana is the BEST! go with a mole of some sort

so for my first serious post in this thread i will say to you..

you are fucking high

gonna try and say The Pie has good pizza next? ha!

You are correct, I am fucking high, that doesn't change my opinion though.

East Coast Subs in Murray and Grinders 13 on State both blow Moochies out of the water. Shit, the dirt trap that is The Philadelphian gives it a run for its money.

As for the Pie, pull-aparts are good but the pizza sucks. Pie Hole or Settebello depending on the mood.

Moochies isn't a sub or sandwich place it's a philly and meatball place, if you order something else youre doing it wrong.

Pie Hole is absolute garbage trash pizza that is only fit to serve when extremely fucked up wandering around downtown.

It's not bad for a cheap ass burrito but quality mexican? fuck no. It is way better than Beto's for late night options though.

Pie Hole is weak sauce. small ass slices, nothing special there. I'd rather walk around the corner and get a slice at este or maxwells any day

ha! i'm from new mexico and i think red iguana is legit!

my uncle is from mexico and he thinks its the best mole he's ever had at a restaurant.

southern cali mexican is not authentic mexican. sweet bro, chronic burritos...... nothing special there, just one notch up from chipotle.

I mean, for 2 bucks a slice, pie hole is solid. este/maxwells is like twice the price.

Chronic Tacos is a chain like the rest of them, Chipolte > Chronic anyway. You don't go to those places for real Mexican food, there are plenty of little hole in the wall Taqueria's and little Cantinas to go to that taste way better for way cheaper.

I much prefer the little Taco carts on the street to anything at Red Iguana
