Vishnus or on3p

I ski in a small resort in ohio and I mostly ride rails. rarely jumps, I am deciding if I should get vishnu wets or on3p mango 90s for park skiing. I need a input on both of them.

Pretty much all vishnu's are out of stock and the mango 90’s only have a few select lengths up right now. If you want something now, I would look elsewhere. How tall are you?

im about 5'8. I do not need them for this season but I will wanna buy skis in the summer/spring. I just need to know for future reference.

Evo has all sizes of mango in stock

I think you’ll like Vishnus better. More fun to do small fuck around shit on while still being deadly easy to get tech on rails with. If you like going bigger on3ps are sick, super stable on landings and they make you feel more confident doing shit with some speed forsure.

Vishnu is one of the best if not the best brand to support in freeskiing rn so take that as you will.

Wets in 171 if you don’t think your getting any taller and don’t plan on riding the rest of the mountain (or have an alternative ski). If you don’t have an alternative and plan to ski out of Ohio (or anywhere outside of the park), Mango 90’s at 176cm would be ideal.

If anyone has wets tell me how they carve, if they do.

171 WETS? I'm 5'8 and ride 181 ON3Ps and they feel amazing, and wets ride like a lot smaller of a ski

please don’t get 171 wets if you are 5 8 oh my god that’s the stupidest thing i’ve ever read i’m 5 10 i ride 183.

Im 5ft6 and ride 177. Dedicated park ski. I also have 171.. 171 would be way too small for him..

Weren’t you just saying you’re in love with your new ON3Ps and they changed your game??

I’m picturing him as like 120 pounds. If he’s heavier ur prolly right, could imagine them skiing smaller than they are.

Yes but I also learned how to butter/nollie stiffer skis so I can enjoy the stability aspect of the mangos as well as the pop when I do butters n such.

I had to learn how to properly butter/nollie soft skis first before I could on a heftier ski. Walk before you can run kinda thing.

Makes sense. Thanks for a real assessment

That being said I honestly don’t think one is easier than the other to butter on depending on how you do it. If you’re good at getting your weight super far out, then mangos aren’t too bad for butters. the length of rocker combined with tip splay makes a hell of a difference. Ski’s already bent like that so you have to just rock your weight over it if that makes sense. Really round feeling flex profile simply because they are a “round” ski if you look at the entire rocker profile that way. Plus (as far as I know) the mangos are the softest ski they’ve yet to make… they definitely seemed to thin them out from the magnus series, and comparing them to some old filthy riches I copped, those things are far thicker, thus stiffer, than the mangos. I was kinda surprised when I pulled them outta the box and they weren’t the thick ass brick of a ski on3p is known for making.

combine that with a 90 underfoot mango and not as much material you have to work against (FYI I ride the 100s) , and you’ve got a good contender against the Wet.

vishnus on the other hand will flex pretty differently… they’re very flat but also very soft. So they kinda “hinge” way closer to mid ski. Since the tips sit so low to the ground it can be way more of a chore to bend the ski to the same degree as mangos, where they’re already “bent” to that degree already due to tip splay/ rocker. So yeah Vishnus can be way easier to press but putting your weight really far out over the nose doesn’t do a whole lot more than kinda half assing it. Can be harder to pop a proper nollie 1, not to mention you’re way more likely to catch tips in the snow since they sit so low.

vishnus are stupid light tho so take that as you will. Not that the mangos feel heavy, it’s just insane how light wets feel.

I hope that all makes sense and it’s not just some illegibly ranted bullshit haha

what skis are u thinking

No joke Id go with fat-ypus. Them things do not break, same with icelantic. You hear about 0n3p being bomb proof whatever, but these are on another level of bombproof.

are icelantic skis light. I dont know a lot of people who have em

i ride snowtrails, 5'11 180, and my 183 wets work for everything. can hit the 30 footer and still butter and spin and stuff. perfect ohio ski

they carve just fine, people hate for no reason. did freeride stuff on the blacks and double blacks at seven springs and they held up admirably.

come back to bmbw

Wets do not carve. The flex and side cut do not match, so if you know how to bend a ski at all, you will over drive them to the point where the tip and tail catch and kick you out of your line.

I want to be a Vishnu fan badly, but if you want to make proper turns with your skis, Wets aren’t it.

Wides or Keys may be much better.

183 please, you will make the mistake of 177 and like a month into riding them you will realize you made a mistake. not even trying to make the big vishnus joke so many of my homies are riding little vishnus

If your gonna get vishnus keep in mind that they size their skis a bit small. for example 177 is more like 172. I ride boston n brandy too ive probably seen you. Vishnus vry fun btw

i have the wide pluses and love them

I personally ride wets, but its gonna depend if u want something crazy soft like the vishnus or something a little more stiff like the mangos. both are great options, ive skied my buddies jeffrey 96s and they are also super fun. so either way i think you'll enjoy your new whips. but id say get the vishnus personally.
