Vishnu/on3p culture getting worse

I believe that you are supporting and a part of the "culture" if you have on3ps or Vishnus, not killing it. In the grand scheme of skiing not too many people even know what Vishnu is. To know about the brand enough to buy the skis you have to have have a fair amount of investment into skiing, therefor apart of the "culture". The skier may not be the next Henrick but they probably love the sport and just want to help out some cool brands. There are probably some people that bought on3ps or something just because their friend got them and they liked the Topsheet but that's totally fine. They are giving money to the people that need more support to fund projects and products that the people that truly love the brand will benefit from. This is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree because I want to know what other think about this.

ON3P is a ski company, not a park ski company. Always have been. It may look like a park ski company based on social media, but they realize that only their park customers give a shit about social media.

Yeah my dad rode ON3Ps for over a decade and definitely didn't know what a K-fed was.

Haven't read the thread yet so maybe this has been said already

But if it's getting worse it's because of dumb ass posts like this. Just go ski you kook

ON3P barely released a line of park skis this year. Hate to break it to you but the vast majority of skis that come out of their factory are not intended for bashing rails on a rope tow all day. They certainly still make skis that excel at doing so, but your perception of skiers who ride ON3P is extremely off base and narrow minded.

My on3ps are my only ski I won't bash on metal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you out there enjoying the mountain, does it really matter if you wearing on3ps and cant get your skis off the ground. Like i understand the desire for exclusivity but these little kids doing their pencil 180s are supporting the brands we love and actually making them more affordable for everyone. Get your head out your own asshole and just fuckin enjoy skiing

when i first got my magnus 90s it was during the rise of swerve skiing and i got bullied for not being a swerve skier with on3ps

Swerving is just a cope for people who refuse to learn technical tricks before adding style.

a lot of people know about surface but I never see them in Montana, I do tend to see them more at great divide though because konnor Ralph kinda was the first person to use them there

I agree with most of what you are saying but how can you say they barely released a park ski?

Mango 90

Mango 100

Crushin Cans 102

Jeffery 102 (Not categorized as a park ski on the website, but it can be just as much a park ski as anything else)

Previous years it was just a Magnus 102 and Magnus 90 with a Jeffery 96-98-102 floating around in there. Let me also add that the new Mango 100 is an amazing ski which absolutely charges...

nobody thinks “swerving” is cool unless you’re magnus, are you talking about the way they dress?

The majority of ON3P’s line up are NOT park skis tho? Also saying ON3P’s culture was in its prime 2 years ago… is that when you bought your first pair?

If anyone is reading this and its changing your mind about what skis to get, fuck that, have fun. Don’t let .001% of the community that probably post 11 second ski edits to a tiktok song decide what is cool and what isn’t.

Begging your parents to buy you a brand so you can try and flex at your Mid-west bump of a ski hill isn't "culture". The culture would be stoked that a small independent brand sells enough ski's to all different types of skier so that they grow, and can provide a living wage to the people they employ as well as keep building sick skis.

The Mangos 90, 100, 110 have primarily been offered only through the custom builder all season.

In late January a small run (12 pairs) of the Mangos 90s were released with a wood veneer mango trees topsheet, never with a stock graphic. This small run was priced near $1100 due to their carefully crafted topsheets. I can understand why these cost significantly more, but these releases have been far from a standard rollouts of Magnus 102 and 90s in years past.

The crushin cans 102 (magnus 102) is a good option and held down the park category on the website beginning in October to present, but is just a signature run of a previous model years ski. This showing was closest to typical fall release of a park ski for the upcoming season.

Sure the Jeffrey 102 is a solid park ski and was released widely with a stock graphic eventually, but the recommended mount point and sidecut takes you significantly back from center and feels dialed as an all mountain ski. Jeffs definitely are more than capable in the park but if you are used to center mounting (or very close to it) on park skis you might be better off with the recommended mount on Mangos. And like you said, they are technically not categorized on the website as a park ski even if they perform nicely in the park.

From the outside looking in it seems like a heavy focus was put on the custom builder this season with repeated extensions of the custom sale this fall and into winter. I think overall the brand has shifted a lot towards prioritizing custom orders and I can understand why since it benefits their business model greatly. It also eases some of their issues with supply chain constraints that were exacerbated by trying to produce large quantities of each stock ski by the beginning of the season instead of taking fewer orders as they come often at a higher price point

All of this to say the park rollout and lineup this season has been far from typical for ON3P. Prioritizing custom orders makes sense so fair enough.

Coming from someone who custom ordered Mango 100s at the beginning of this season and rides them nearly everyday (and I love them).

some people with on3ps just plain bad visually

Bro why does it matter just let people ski whatever ski they want wether they are good or bad. TF is the problem here, I wouldn’t give a shit if I saw a toddle riding On3p’s ur a 12 year old and ur whole skiing experience is influenced by social media. Just let people have fun doesn’t fucking matter what skis they have

Ski culture and park ski culture died like 10 years ago, for similar reasons but due to different outcomes.

Being a ski bum used to mean grinding hard, 16 hours a day on your feet. Now it means that some high school kid in Minnesota convinced mummy and daddy to pay his rent and buy his ski pass in SLC so he can go fit in with everyone else in track pants and vishnu’s. The worst part about it is the parks they’re building these days have progressively gotten worse over the past 10 years, adding insult to injury that these kids are like, it’s 2023 I need to move to Park City. It’s like bruhh the park was better in 2014 youre 10 years late to the game, find something else to base your life around.

Park skiing used to be a form of creativity and the people who did it were dedicated and made sacrifices. Now the people in it sleep in until noon by choice, go to brighton in their r3valuate pants and vishnu’s, film an instagram edit and 50 of their friends who also wear r3valuate and vishnu comment on their instagram like they’re high school girls- “so fire” “gas”.

Lol, a lot of ski bums have always had their parents footing the bill. Don't think that has changed. Only difference now to 10 years ago is more social media and the brands that kids think are cool.

Everyone gets mad when their favorite indie band puts out a second album that does well.

IMO ON3P and Vishnu are not the same. One is a ski company and one is a top sheet company, fuck the hype.

This….

Everybody liked Vs & ON3P because they represented skiings underground counter culture.

Now that they’ve blown up a little bit and all the 12 yr old fanboys are asking Santa for Wets for Christmas all the now 16 yr old fanboys riding them just NEED to flex and let everyone know ? “I HEARD OF THEM FIRST”

In reality the old bandwagoners are the exact same as the new bandwagoners. If your identity in skiing is tied to a brand then you are simply doing it wrong regardless of skill or tricks. Ride what you like, wear what you like, but don’t let it define you, how you ski, or why you do it

What makes you think that you and your mates have the right to ski on these skis but the other kids in your hill don’t? That’s a very arrogant opinion
