Vishnu Mount possible nightmare

Hey guys, got some Vishnu wets in 183 and took them to my local shop to get mounted. Shop got it done in a couple days so I go pick them up and am super happy with them. I get home (~45 min drive) and realize that One of my skis was mounted backwards. Called the shop, they said that they don’t have any knowledge on the skis, and don’t know if it will affect the way they ride. They are mounted true center so will the backwards mount affect the way they ride as it’s a symmetrical twin? Thanks NS

They are symmetrical and have symmetrical flex so you would be fine to ride as is, that being said your shop owes you a new ski. A fucked up mount is a fucked up mount even if it is just cosmetic.

The guy at the shop that wasn’t the tech was super helpful and said that they would make the bindings free if it’s just cosmetic ?‍?‍ So I’m not sure if that’s worth it or not since warrantee on Vishnu’s website says it doesn’t cover mounting mistakes

No you need smaller brakes. I forget if look does a 85mm or not.

I got the same graphics and I mounted mine like that on purpose. I thought it looked sick with both the v’s in front. Vishnu’s are symmetrical so they ride the same either way

i feel ya, OP. back in 2006 i had just bought a pair of armada t halls. i wanted to mount them true center. i made a sharpie mark on both of my skis, took them to the shop, and even wrote on the mounting form "true center - mount on the sharpie line". i went to pick them up and the ski tech dude was like "you didn't actually want that, that's not how skis are supposed to be mounted. i mounted them how they are supposed to be" and they were like -8. i was pissssed. then the shop said there was nothing they could do about it. i said fuck it and went somewhere else to get them remounted. fuckin' jabroni.

We are all good on my end, they are remounting so I can ski early season and then getting me another pair

knows they kinda fucked up I would just let it slide in this case

Yeah just got off the phone with the manager over there and I guess their tech has had a really bad week because of a family member’s passing. My family has been going to that shop almost exclusively for about 2 years so can’t hate them or anything for one mistake just glad it’s only going to affect cosmetics!! The techs mental health is more important than a pair of skis and the manager said that mine were the last ones he did before going on leave so just praying for the tech

I work in a machine shop and people mess up sometimes it happens and making a shop pay 500 bucks for different skis just so I get a V logo flipped around doesn’t make sense
