Videos lagging on NS but not on other sites

Every video I watch on here won't play smoothly, even in 360p, where on Youtube or Vimeo for example I can watch a video in HD without lagging at all.

Any solutions? Anyone else having the same problem?

Thanks

This was happening to me all this summer. All the computers at work wouldn't play the NS player all, but the vimeo/youtube edits linked to NS played fine. I could connect my laptop to the same wifi and it would play fine so it definitely wasn't the internet. At one point there was a little pop up that said to download the latest version of some adobe thing so I did that but it didn't change much.

Can everyone tell me what operating system / browser version / device you're experiencing this on?

Also, when exactly did you notice it started?

I'm using Chrome on a Dell laptop, it probably started with the new player, but I'm not sure exactly when. On my phone (Android) I use chrome too and videos are fine though.

And I've updated my Adobe Flash Player and it didn't change anything

Oh and I can watch videos in 1080p with the Producer Program player no problem, but the other player lags in 360p.

I have this same problem. Im positive its not my wifi because it works on my fams mac, when i use that. i recently got a Chromebook and it blows on videos that arn't on YouTube or vimeo think that it might be a device problem .

Firefox. Been like that with the NS player for a long time. One needs to basicly allow time for a download prior to playing the videos.

Right, thanks for the info. We'll look into this after the beta galleries are out.

Actually try something for me -

Go into your profile settings (accessed from the dropdown of your username in the top right) and disable JW Player 7 beta.

See if that fixes it or breaks everything?

With the latest player everything was smooth. No delay on 720.

Then I disabled and got the white screen with no video at all.

Hope that helps you in some way. Windows 8 on Firefox

Ah fuck never mind then, guess the old one is broken.

Are you guys still having problems with this?

No problem with the NS player here.

It is a bummer though when viewing latest stuff and scrolling down and viewing something, then hit the browser back button it always goes back to the hot tab. Used to be it went back to where you left off, or darn close to it on the same tab.

Again on the player. Used to be I had to wait for the old NS player to download almost the whole video before I could view without a stall. That is not the case anymore and I still have a slow modem.

You talking about homepage or the videos specifically? Also mobile or Desktop?

Yes, homepage tabs. Desktop, Firefox.

Ah yeah - sooooo....

I'd just live with that for now. We're actually working on a new homepage concept right now.

I'm still having issues with the video player. Youtube, vimeo, pornhub etc works fine, but the buffering on the NS player is not keeping up.

I'm on a macbook pro, using safari. Firefox is just as bad.
