Videography 10 years ago

God I really miss the IRPC / 4bi9 video series. And a lot of video series from this time.

Not sure why but this 2011-2014 period was such a sick time for skiing videography. Seems like all the top rated edits from back then were so well done, tricks and style off the charts, music so dope. I mean this shit is beautiful and 4bi9 was at the very top of the game:

EHeath we got you to thank for a ton of the dope shit back then ?

Thanks man, I had so much fun making videos and looking back on the 2008-2014 era it was truly some of the best times in skiing IMO.

I will say, some of the stuff that [tag=161892]@j.benziger[/tag] and [tag=215861]@_BG_[/tag] are doing now at Woodward gives me a lot of the same vibes as back then. Production, tricks, style, ill af

It still exists, and a lot of people still drop edits like that, it’s just hard as fuck to do and not as fun as other methods of filming.

Filming with those HVX or whatever and fisheyes is legitimately fun and engaging, long lens jump shots are less fun and way easier to fuck up. At least in my experience, I suck at filming tho

100% As much as we've had our disagreements over the internet, I def. binge watched many of your edits and appreciate the work you put into them. I think I watched FUCK over a thousand times in college, mcchesneys rodeo/flat 12 is still one of the dopest tricks/stomps I've ever seen on skis. I feel lucky to have been so hooked on skiing during those years in college. New innovation every year, and just so many names coming up that went on to be pro skiers for the next decade +. I still love watching skiing, but the glory years of ski edits were from 2007-2013 for me.

You done did some thing things with some things. People sometimes forget about them things.

#neverforget

Nah, I prefer today's edits where they purposely use shittier cameras and contain more filler/b-roll than actual skiing. Something hits hard about all of the edits using the same shitty PIP effects, shitty music and everyone looking exactly the same while doing sub-par, small tricks on tiny features.
