Im some what new to photography and video and i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what lenses to pick editing software etc. i have two lenses for my t4i a 18-55mm kit lense and a 40mm pancake will they work alright and what video settings should i shoot in +k for advice. Thanks

You are going to want and get some sort of stabilization (tripod or glidecam)For editing you have final cut for mac, sony vegas for windows or adobe premier for both.

You are going to want and get an extra battery and some fast memory cards. Look at getting an ND filter and a external mic.

For lenses a lot of people will suggest a tokina 11-16 and a tamron 17-50 and depending what you are shooting a telephoto.

That's all video based stuff.

I have a tripod and am getting a steadicam thanks for the advice too. I was also wondering if it is better to shoot in 60 or 24 fps.

First of all, its LENS.

Second of all, video/photo equipment isn't cheap, even used. Be prepared to save up money to buy even just 1 lens.

If you are going to be filming skiing, I'd suggest investing in a fisheye, as well as a handle, For photographs, i love my 50mm lens. And with fisheye DO NOT use autofocus.s

When youre done editing just covert it down to 24fps and make sure you're not using a slowmo lower than 40% if youre shooting @60fps

Well If you know you're gonna shoot something you want in Slowmotion then you'll have level up the fps in order to slow it down nicely in post production. But just shoot in 24/25fps (24 for film 25 for TV). No need to push the frame rate for nothing.
