im stoked fo the kid, he,s definetly amazing at pipe his alley-oop dub flat was stomped as shit, he'll definetly be the best soon, but the fact is, he did not go switch then he grabbed on his 2 first hits and thats pretty much it, in my opinion grbbing is pretty much mandatory, can anyone podium in slope for missing a grab? should be the same for pipe

anyway pipe skiing is going on an other level, hopefully dorey can lay down a pipe run to give the others a run for there money

Annnnnnnd Dumont is still a BITCH. Instead of being over there congratulating and being stoked for the kid he was pissing his pants talking to his agent or somebody.

Congrats Torin!

yeah i agree, 2 doubles and a switch trick beats 2 switch tricks and a double anyday, simon shoulda won, with his amplitute, rolland second, and the other kid third (or duncan adams)

i dont man. i feel like going switch out of a pipe is harder than throwing two regular doubles. just because doubles are the common thing to throw now..

i think simon should've gotten 2nd. but not first.

Not hating on Tornin. Hes the man for even getting into x, never mind getting in the top 3, but some of his spins werent even grabbed...

Nah. Rolland deserved first, Dumont shoulda had second, not Torin. No hate on Torin, I just think no switch hits and missed grabs shouldn't have beaten Dumont's run. I didn't see Duncan Adams' run, so I can't judge who shoulda taken third, but when I watched Torin's run I couldn't help but notice how smooth his landings were. Reminded me of Tanner in 09, except he was landing a little further down the pipe.

Props to him though, he gonna be a force to be reckoned with. If he keeps this up 2014 will be insane

dumont IMO should have got first. He did everthing the same with better style. Rolland did a mute grab every hit. Dumont was mixing up grabs. And he doesn't have the fag fifi voice

wrong, wrong, wrong, and pathetic.

Dumont missed his grab on his 12 and landed a little untidily.

Dumont's only switch hit was last hit.

Kevin had 2 switch hits, in the middle of his run, and still kept the amplitude for a PERFECT dub 12 last hit.

Kevin's run included mutes, a safety and a blunt- dumont only grabbed mute and tail.

Do I need to say anything about your comment on Kevin's voice? No.

Judging in skiing is always far from perfect. You can't please everyone, but generally the judges in the X Games are pretty on.
That being said, there is no way that run should have scored silver. Ever. I've seen every winter X Games pipe, and that's the worst display of judging. That run was good, but with a lack of grabs and switch tricks, it shouldn't have medaled.
The worst judging ever was the text vote big air from two years ago.

Torin's run was awesome, I think it really helped that he was in front of a REALLY LOUD LOCAL CROWD and that his alley-oop double flatspin (not a double that everyone is doing) was really high and on his last hit. Its not always what you do throughout your whole run that counts but what the judges remember from your last hit and how loud the crowd is when you stomp that last trick.

I agree, but as someone who has also seen every x games pipe, i've seen this happen before. the order of your runs matter. it's not in the official judging criteria, but improving between runs is a huge deal. simon peaked in his second run; torin peaked in his final run. that matters psychologically for the judging. also, torin stomped his run as best he could. sure he missed some grabs, but no one was expecting him to do better. torin exceeded expectations, dumont did not. the judges could have seen a better run from him.

It makes me wonder how much of Torin's score was about increasing the entertainment factor of the X-games; like "let's see Dumon't reaction if we do this!"

Two things:

1. Look at Dumont's face at 1:37 and that answer the quote.

2. Torin is sponser by, quess who, Target, i wonder who their first big sponser was?? Oh Yes it was Simon Dumont

I dislike Simon Dumont for ditching Level 1, and yes,for being a little bitch when he loses... But he deserved second. The judging was questionable as per usual..

maybe i was wrong about dumount over rolland, but i think everyone agrees that torin did not deserve the silver
