Video from Dew Tour Snow Basin

holy shit level is hiigh! personaly i would have give it to andreas though.. sw right 10, sw left 12 double 10, everything perfect! siiick

i hate how a lot of pros dont carve when taking off switch. also i hate when they land in a switch snowplow, then switch snowplow to the next jump. i understand the speed was a little fast there, but TW shows why he deserves first by carving in and out of each jump and scrubbing speed switch like you should, showing true control through the course.

sammys run was not dew tour podium level...something had to be wrong with the course. also, that wasnt a butter at all on the hurricane spin he did

tom and andreas' runs were flawless.

I agree 100%. His control, stye, and "presence" between features is the fucking deal.
Thank you for pointing out the switch snow plow.

He bobbled a bit there, but it was a very difficult trick...not to mention the dub swap on the battle ship rail was obnoxiously perfect.
As far as Andreas "stomping" everything....well...I sort of disagree. He's a powerful skier, maybe the strongest in the field...might be the best overall athlete, but his landings look effortful. I don't know if it's just because he takes everything so damn deep, but he lands with so much compression. And, like someone already said, he lands in a veritable switch snowplow and pretty much rides that into the next hit. It just doesn't look very good—even if the course is a bit tight. I'm not trying to hate on Hatveit, he's freakishly talented and consistent.
I personally thought Tom's run was much more cleanly and impressively executed, even though Andreas' run on paper was better trick for trick. I love that the judges rewarded fluidity and style...even if they did so inconsistently coughcasaboncough.
Random thought: Good to see a comp with excellent weather where essentially everyone puts a solid run to their feet.
Last thing: It's almost impossible to "fairly" judge a slope contest with the progression and parity that is the name of the slope game right now. I think scoring is a bit inflated...

crazy to think all these double corks are going on when PK Hunder was the one that brought them to slope first...hope he comes back soon.

honestly i thought this was in all very fair judging with the exception of b-dog. switch 5050 on the trap rail? wahaaaaaat? i thought his runwas insane, but apparently the judges thought otherwise

I agree with this, although TW's switch 9 was flawlessly stomped and the double cork Japan crazyness I can't even comprehend.

It doesnt really matter whos run was "better" its all about whos run has a better impression on the judges. Judges don't analyze each trick and see which is better, they judge on overall impression and the judges were obviously more impressed with tom's than andreas' and id be willing to bet its all in the landings, tom lands like he never leaves the ground, andreas not so much. People don't get the way judges judge slope contests, it has nothing to do with that it looks like on paper, it depends on how they perform (style) and overall impression (landings, difficulty, etc).

ridiculous announcing on mcrae's run...good lord it seemed like they weren't even watching.

Agreed, that was the best 9 I think I've ever seen. I liked Andreas run better, but both were amazing and difficult. Coin toss in my opinion.

Thanks som much to the OP and the youtube dude for this - I recorded 4 and a half hours of the Snowbasin stop on pay TV and didn't get and ski slopestyle - sucks!
For me, all of those runs were sick!

i think andreas's run was much more well executed than toms.andreas holds his grabs on every trick the entire time whereas its clear wallisch lets go on his sw right 10. i also thought tom looked silly on that down box whereas andreas did his trick perfectly, and it was no easy trick. i think andreas got marked down for doing mute grabs on every trick though. however, his last trick on the up rail was much harder than a trick many of us can do.
