Well when you buy a laptop look at the specs and see if you can customize it. You want high amount of ram (6+ gigs), solid video card, and solid CPU (i5 or higher probably). Depends on how much you want to spend really. If you can't live without Final Cut, go with the macbook pro. If you wanna save money, get a PC with the above specs and use Adobe Premiere or something similar.
