Video Editing Help

Alright so i use Sony Vegas 8.0b. For my grandpa's funeral service we filmed it and wanted to burn it on to cds. Unfortunately since we filmed it all as one big segment on my brother's flip share camera (hd) the file is 3.7GB large and will not go on to sony vegas. My question is this, is there any way that i can put this video file on to the program? like change the settings so i can burn it on to cd's? or if not is there any way that i could maybe compress the video on another editing program, then i could bring it back to sony vegas to edit and burn?

Thanks for the help

mpeg4 usually works on sony vegas though. I have made an edit with that camera before, i think it is the size of the file. I would just burn it from that file, but i want to do a little editing to make it look nicer around the edges.

Success. Now i will be able to do this. Thanks for help everybody. I used that program and exported as an AVI file. Now i'm currently editing and what not. Thanks, this will make my dad happy

You stupid n00b.

First you post in the wrong forum, then you ask a stupid question, then you TRIPLE post.

SHampson, you anger me.

first of all. Fuck you. Second of all i've been a member for about 3 years more than you. Third, even for that amount of time i have about 1/3 the posts as you, so i'm not a ns whore. Fourth that is strike two.

spencer just shut up!
u're one of Seth's best friends (ya people he really is) and u're just giving him shit on NS on most of his threads. like seth said, u are a ns whore. and if u now go and bitch on me, fine i dont care since im on NS not because of my karma like u are, so do whatever u want.
second, seths grandpa passed away and he is trying to do sth nice for his dad and u bitch him out when he is asking for help about that?! seriously, just grow up. its not about "i have more karma than u do, seth"

i use vegas also. theres no reason why it shouldn't load because of size. some of the files i load are 10 g. That being said my computer is fast enough to handle the stress of loading all that information into ram. if you can't get it to load try a converter. Super is a good converter.
