it could be water damage... or maybe not, my camera went nuts then stopped working after I lent it to my dad and he got drunk and left it out in the rain.

Yeah if you can, take out the tape and leave the camera door open for a very long time, preferably in a dry place.

more likely you have dirty heads. Get a cleaning tape anr run it for 30-60 seconds (dont use the directions, they always give u some time that either is to short or too long)
