XXL did it, The Source did it, and BET did it, so why not VH1? On Friday, VH1 premiered the first in their Greatest Series, 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Artists, hosted by P. Diddy. They counted 50 artists that they believe are the greatest, with stories and accolades with each artists featuring commentary from Chuck D, Busta Rhymes, Ice-T, Nelly, Hammer, Grandmaster Flash, Outkast, Eve, Snoop Dogg, KRS-One and Afrika Bamabaata.

Fans can catch the rerun of the show on Tuesday April 22, Thursday April 24 and Friday May 9. Check your local listings for show times. Here's VH1's 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Artists:

Do you guys agree? I certainly don't with many of the choices. There was no pharcyde or Del. Some of the higher ranking artists havn't stood the test of time yet and there is a lot of pop shit up there that few will remember in the years to come. I think public enemy should have been #1, beastie boys #2.

There are only a couple of artist that deserve to be there in my opinion. But this is pretty much just of a bunch of people's opinions put together. Oh well, what can you do.
