Very pumped. I might be getting my foot in the door to join a crew for a race series next season.

I do not want to jinx it, but things are looking good that I might have a spot on a team that races in this series. Very excited but its almost an entire year away. Its a feeder series for ALMS so the ultimate goal is to get on an ALMS crew but you have to pay your dues and start somewhere.

It feels good to make progression towards a dream.

 
Must feel good man. I would kill to have the ability to work on cars like those, let alone the opportunity to actually do it.

Are you the guy who made a thread a whileee back about trying to chase your dream and get into GT racing and get on a team and stuff? If so props man that's really cool if it works out.

Im not 100 percent that i will be in the series next season, so i do not want to jinx it.
 
Hey man i kinda have a racing fetish. How do you start if you would dream of becoming a formula 1 driver? sounds silly but its an honest question.
 
loads of money. Start karting from early age, then move up the ladder in multiple forms of racing. There is no set way, but most new f1 drivers have family money or large amounts of sponsor money to get them into a low level f1 team.
 
thought i would update this. I have a week long job tryout in about 2 months with a GT3 race team. A little sketched out because i have no idea of what the expectations are. Its going to be out of town, so ill have to set up shop in a hotel for a week and work in their shop for free. Their shop looks pretty slick though, its an exotic modification shop... it looks like a fair amount of cool stuff rolls through their doors.
 
good luck man, I had an opportunity with Red Bull NASCAR 2 years ago and turned it down after talking to a lot of people i know that work within racing telling me that there is a lot of nepotism and it is a very volatile industry based on sponsors pulling out without notice. It is a very fun place to work but like you said you have to pay your dues and be able to put up with a lot of BS

Dope man. A few of my friends from high school work on various crews. They started with the local dirt track through high school. And moved up. Pretty cool shit. Not something I know anything about but def dope.
 
thanks for all the vibes. I know the life span of a race team is normally very short and not secure in any way what so ever but you have to deal with the bad to live the good. My end goal is to end up in the new ALMS/GRAND AM race series sometime in the future.
