Verizon question

So I have a shitty as free phone from Verizon and my 4 and my 7 do not work from getting it wet. So im looking on craigslist and what not for a new phone and I was wondering if I could just buy a new phone and then switch it to my number and stuff. How do you do this? Anyone know? Thanks. +k

dropped it in the snow too many times. and now my 4 and my 7 do not work. so im just wondering if i can buy a phone thats not like a fancy ass one with the data fees and shit and just still have my same plan.

You can either do it online or call it in. Doing it online is free but is a pain in the ass, calling in is easy but costs like 20 bucks. If you call in and say you tried online but it didnt work, they will do it over the phone for free.
