Verizon Iphone!

because verizon sucks, its going to cost like 100$ a month just to own one. Not to mention their shit programing is going to fuck the whole thing up

Already marked my calender for the 3rd. So stoked. I just wont be able to eat dinner because the thing costs so much

seems like a valid reason to get a phone...

Nah I have the Droid X, while the thing is sick to many bugs. Iphone and mac products in general just work.

Well their stock didn't do so hot thus far today, down 2 points. I think iphone sales could potentially cannibalize their android smartphone sales. Might not be the best business decision but we'll see how it pans out. People are however pretty pissed at the cellular infrastructure AT&T provides (or rather, doesn't provide) so if enough people switch over from AT&T the win will go to VZ. In any case, fuck AT&T.

Coming from a person who uses and loves android and isn't going to switch...

Seriously, android's growth is going to come to a screeching halt.

The only thing android had going for it was that it was the only decent smartphone os on verizon. And people only bought it because it was

1. Cheap and

2. a smart phone on verizon.

They bought it settling for inferior good to the iPhone. I'd bet 75% of the people with android phones on verizon would happily switch to an iPhone if given the option because its (obviously) better then their 30$ Moto Citrus.

Android really needs to get rid of carrier crapware(VCast, blockbuster, nfl), 30$ crap phones (That everyone ends up hating because they get bogged down far too easily, and just dont work well), and crappy custom skins (I'm looking at you droid x) if they want a chance against the iPhone.

They need to make people want android phones, not settle for them.

The iPhone 4 is NOT 4G/LTE. Apple said a LTE radio would have been too hard on the battery.

ill be getting it

but im going to wait until june when they unveil the new iphone just as they have the past three years

Just wait until they all hit the Verizon network. It will be far worse. The iPhone uses more bandwidth then any other phones. Big red may not be able to carry a phone on the network with that high of a bandwidth with that many users, so it will be interesting.

So they put out a iPhone on the shitty ED-VO network?

ED-VO = EDGE for AT&T. That's not even 3G. That's awesome! I feel sorry for all the people who buy this phone.

Droid> iPhone because of open source app creation. anyone can create any app for droids, but apple controls every app for the iPhone. limits the number and competition to make better apps.

Hey guys. You can keep your stupid little iPhones.

I think I'll stick with reliable 3g and 4g service from sprint, along with my bill staying at $69 per month for unlimited data, texting, and web services. My android phone will do just fine.

Sprint is win.

Your opinion is invalid, seeing that you don't realize there are like 8 droid phones, and what you are referring to is the android OS v iOS. It's fairly clear you are and android by circumstance fanboy

I suspect this will happen, but not no nearly the extend that it plagued AT&T. VZ has been working on their cellular infrastructure because they saw what happened with AT&T when all the Iphones hit and demolished all their bandwidth. So it may happen, but it won't be like AT&T. VZ is smarter than that....hopefully.

In any case I'm gonna see how my AT&T service does over the next 2-3 months. If it continues to be shitty I may switch to Verizon. Still not sure if I want another iphone though, might try a droid, see how it is.

AT&T sucks acehole. An overloaded Verizon network will probably still function better then AT&T "Edge"

I loathe paying my AT&T bill every month.

AT&T does not really use EDGE unless you are not in a 3G area. You may want to consider that the AT&T phone works in the 3G network for AT&T (assuming you are in the 3G area) and the Verizon iPhone will work on the ED-VO as a primary network which is like the EDGE network for AT&T. This means it's running on the older system for Verizon.

Meh, after having a droid x now for a few months, i see no use for an iphone. my roommate has an iphone 4 and i like my droid so much more. cant wait for 4g phones to come out right when i have an upgrade in about a year.

do y'all really need a smart phone, like you think you couldn't live without one, or do just pay out the ass for the cost of looking cool?

This is true, but coming from a iphone 4 user i am not in a 3g area about 50% of the time. I wish i could switch to sprint and get a evo and unlimited for 69 a month. But unfortunately i am on my parents att family plan which is only good because its cheap.

?

iPhone users on average use less data then android users, and if you look at Verizon, their network handles all their Droid shit pretty well

the iPhone will not cripple their network one bit

Android > Iphone so hard, and here is why.1. open source market. 2. root access allows for custom roms, which let you put basically whatever software you want on the phone. If you have a droid with sense on it (HTC phones have this) and you want the normal android OS, you can just flash it on. simple as that.3. customization of any roms - you can change so much more on a droid than you can on an Iphone. One persons android phone will look completely different than another person's android phone. Its really nice to be able to change so much about how the phone works, looks, and feels. The Iphone is basically a one size fits all sorta thing.4. integration of google apps. IT WORKS SO WELL. 5. 8 mp camera on the HTC incredible and other android phones (iphone 4 has a 5 mp i believe, although I may be wrong)6. ability to choose your device, and not just have the single iphone option.7. standard micro usb charging ports on most phones (you arent stuck with the ipod cable) 8. notification bar. your notifications are kept in a single place that you can access from most apps/places within the phone. you can check your texts, emails, missed calls, etc... all from the notification bar (as well as ongoing processes such as USB connections, etc...)

the list goes on.

I am talking about the way it talks to the network, not what users use. I will try to find something to better explain what I am talking about. If you have a HTC Andriod and a iPhone4, you access the same website, the iPhone will use more bandwidth even though you access the same site. This is why the network is so slow. It has been proven by many third party companies.

It's probably the most convenient and useful technological advancement of the decade, playing it down just makes you look ignorant.
