Vail Ski Resort big year?

Fresh out of their big Park City deal, Vail Mountain Resort seems to be heading towards a big year. Vail is also a publicly held company, meaning every day people can buy stocks from them. In my finance class, this year, we are participating in the stock market game. Basically we get 100,000(fake) to invest in anything we want. I've been doing research and Vail's stock certainly has the potential to put up some big numbers. I'm looking for some input from the locals out there, is it going to be a big year?

Also I'd really like to spend all my money on ski related companies, does anybody have any ideas for other companies bound to hit it big this year?

I'll keep ns updated during the period our stocks are going to be recorded.
 
Do it. Especially with Canyons and PC being combined it's going to be crazy stupid money flowing in. Just think of the size of those 2 resorts being combined. Mecha.
 
vail will certainly be a good investment, but besides that and maybe go pro I wouldnt put too much money into other ski-related brands, they dont see as much growth as some other bigger corporations would see.
 
id go for it, but I feel like most resort companies are risky as hell, though Ive heard great things about wyndham resorts (sp) from my finance teacher last year. he had some shares that said did him well on a couple of occasions.

ski resort investing just seems risky and not wise I think, but its your money and you can do whatever the hell you want with it.

i just want to take advantage of their internships.
 
Well your already late on the train since they had a huge stock boost when it was announced so you missed out on that. I held Vail resorts at one point back in the day more because I liked skiing notbecause it was a wise investment choice. Winter sports industry is decreasing in size. But could be a good buy now based strictly on betting that they have better earnings this winter...which won't show really in the stock price until 2nd quarter next year.
 
Thanks for the input, again, it's not real money, I just want to have some fun and id like to keep it in the ski industry
 
I remember playing this game in an intro course during college.

I owned stock in Jarden (K2/Line), Amer Sports, Vail, Head N.V., Black Diamond Equipment, etc.

I'm pretty sure I failed pretty hard though haha.
 
You missed the MTN trade. Now that the PCMR deal is public, the stock price has already gone up to include the increased value. You'll have to look further afield, I'm afraid.

you'll be fine. PCMR stays open the latest out of all of the PC area resorts. 420 was the last day this past season, which was a massive shitshow of a party.
