Vail in mid March

My spring break is in mid-march and I'm thinking about going to vail, what are conditions like out there at that time? Thanks!
 
Mid-March is a great time to go to Vail. Some of the biggest storms of the season arrive in March, and it seems like there has been at least one in the past five years. However there usually isn't 3+ days of snowfall in March.

But if it it's not snowing, park laps through Golden Peak park are usually a great option in March. It seems like the park isn't halfway decent until January, and February and March are the only months it is in top condition.
 
That is there usually isn't 3+ days of consecutive snowfall. So there might be a large snowfall and then a rapid rise in temperature, leaving mash-potatoes or some nice slush depending.
 
I skied Vail for a day on March 13th last season. Can get a bit crusty in the early morning (until around 10-11 depending on temps) but then it gets REALLY nice. If you hit it on a sunny day, it really is like nothing else. The bowls are super open and HUGE, super fun to shred groomers. I recommend Mongolia bowl, you have to traverse a little there and back but so worth it.

this huge sample size is sure to be accurate.. seriously though, hes right. the bowls are south facing, making for snow conditions that change quick. blue sky, with its northern exposure, is a bit more consistent with big swings in late spring temps
 
March is a good time to come, normally either stormy so you'll have pow or a nice spring bluebird day.
 
Thanks guys, stoked to get out there in a couple weeks. How are the lift lines compared to a east coast resort such as killington? I've heard bad things about them
