alright so my dads flying out to CO for business and he said he can take me with him and we can ski vail and beavercreek. the only thing is we only have 3 days to ski so from someone whos been there what would you recommend i deffinatly get to?
i went out west for my first time ever last year and skied vail and beaver creek too.. so much fun..at vail you should try to get into the back bowls, especially if there is alot of snow.. at beaver creek the tree skiing is madd fun.. basically out west skiing around and exploring the mountain is so much fun you dont even feel the need to ski park.. i ski park on the east but when i went out west i found myself in the trees finding cliffs and stuff all the time.. so fun.. have a blast
havent skied Beaver but Vail is HUGE let me say that again, HUGE you could easily ski there 3 days and not get bored.
back bowls and Blue Sky Basin are pretty awesome. overall vail is kind/pretty flat. but its awesome and being your first time out west you wont have any trouble scaring yourself shitless if you want to. haha
I have a pass to both, BC has a better park set up. You can take a 2500 vert run aka whole mountain and basically hit every park. BC also has better pow skiing if it has been cold and snowy. Stone creek chutes are better than anything vail has to offer as far as gnarly terrain IMO. BC also is less crowded. I like vail like anyone else but on a powder day or shit over spring break its going to get A tracked out quicker B longer lines C pay for parking D FREE FUCKING COOKIES AT 3 @ BEAVER CREEK!!!!!!
On the above posted keep in mind Vail is 2.5 times the size of BC the one up compaired to BC IMO
i ski vail or beaver creek everyday. for park beaver creek, u can also find some good little cliff drops and its way easier to get on the mtn. vails parking is horrible and jumps are worse. beaver creek
I honestly like beaver creek more than vail. Yeah vails bowls are great, but within 30 minutes are tracked up by spanish tourists, not to mention all the cattracks you have to take. beavers park setup is better too
i prefer beaver. there are a lot of cat walks at vail, but both are gnar. back bowls are sick with powder but if you dont get snow theyll prob be crusty. or atleast thats how its been for me (im from the east and hav eonly been a couple times). i love the stone creek chutes at beaver. dropping cliffs is deff the way to go when your out west. trees>park when the snow is nice
Basically any mountain out in CO will be the best skiing you've ever experienced. I personally prefer skiing the less known mountains like Loveland Pass (way less crowded and more locals) but Vail and Beaver are worth the lines.
