Yo everyone,
For those who don't know and can refrain from hating in this thread, UVM has a club Freestyle Ski Team. The team is roughly 50 kids who compete in slopestyle, skiercross and now freeride comps. In order to push the team to compete, we pay for all competitions. We also are lucky enough to have vans that go to Stowe everyday during the winter which saves gas and gives freshmen without cars the opportunity for a free ride to Stowe. We also have a shop night with SkiRack and able to receive super sick deals on all hardgoods in the store.
This message is primarily for high schoolers interested in checking out UVM and the team. We have the option to give any perspective members of the team a free day pass to Stowe if anyone is interested. Our website is way outdated, but check it out http://www.uvm.edu/~freeski or shoot us an email (freeski@uvm.edu) if you're interested in riding Stowe for free while checking out UVM.
Thanks for the interest!Alev

i toured and applied to uvm and had heard about the freestyle team, but i got the wrong impression. this seems so sweet after looking into it a little bit.

Nah. They just Have the St. Mikes Shred Club. A legit club, but very different than the UVM FST.

Thanks! While Im at it, were hosting a comp at Stowe in North Slope on Feb 13th (two weeks from this coming Sunday). The comp is open to everyone, and will be a jam style format. The top 16 will go head to head in bracket style single elimination to determine the winner. Prizes are supplied by SkiRack, The &nd Brand, UVM FST, Madhouse Munchies, and more. Stay tuned for more details but it should be some nice clean fun.

They're always accepting new members. If/when you get in, just contact a member and they'll point you in the right direction towards an application.

There is some sort of integrated program, and it is called the Corey McGrath guide to the bender lifestyle.

EVEN THOUGH smc doesnt have a fst, we still provide van rides to the mountain, if in high demand, as well as fund any skiers who wish to compete. and shredmc pretty much is the bomb.

The one thing ShredMC did get right was their progressive skiblade training sessions. Intructors Cory McGrath, Kevin McClory and Matt Stillnuts will teach you all kinds of trick from 180's to double nuts. FST cant hold a candle to that. Oh and by the way I dont know how you guys got your NS accounts cause I am way better and cooler then all of you combined. I am an east coast legend. Peace.CLAIM CLAIM CLAIM!!!!!!!!///////

I went to a VIP day at UVM and someone from the team (I think he said he snowboarded though) was one of the guides. If I get in, I'll remember to message you for info and such.

. Sorry max, the Gypsy Caravan is a supreme council of elders and a few special guests. It's really very exclusive.

since I have a couple shots in the vid what does that make me? Im gonna have to ask you to censor my face next time if I'm not allowed to roll with the caravan.

oh max, you have a lot to learn young padawan. The Caravan is a known entity whose true members are illusive and not entirely known. If you think induction is as simple as being in an edit, you clearly are not fit for the caravan lifestyle. It is much harder than you think. I mean fuck, certain people have been with us for a year and a half, and are still just permanent special guests.
We are like the wind, everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

weiner. am i a special guest atleast. as you remember I have been with you for a year and a half and have seen you at your worst and best.

come skiing with us! shoot me an email freeski@uvm.edu and well get you a free day pass if you want.

we have a few team vouchers left so if anyone is interested shoot us an email and we can get you guys set up with some tickets for stowe!

damn wish i saw this earlier. just visited last sat and went to sugarbush sun. wouldve gone the extra time to stowe if i had a free ticket

season is over, but if anyone has any interest who plans on coming to UVM next year send us an email. its good to know who's interested before the season starts

do you have to be a student both semesters to be on the FST? I have 21 credits to go and am taking 18 in the fall....with 3 either over this summer next /winter break. Either way i'll hopefully be skiing the entire spring semester, just curious.

nope, should not be an issue. as long as you're around in burlington, then definitely

haha aight drewski. think what you may but its a steal with free rides to the mountain and comp fees if u wanna go that way.
