The only other thread was in regionals and was getting no views, so I made this. Every other ski school has one...

I'm also looking for a room mate, so hit me up. I'm probably skiing Sugarbush next year and

Seriously, join FST. Stowe is better than Bush and we don't have the knuckledragger team sitting on the landings of our jumps (which are 10x better than Bush's too).

whatever orientation you end up going to, come to the threesome college pass table and hit us up with any questions about FST. There should be one of us there to answer any of your questions.

joining FST is as expensive as getting a stowe college pass and mt. ellen pass combined.....why ski one mountain when you can ski two for same price?

2 vans to go to the mountain every day of the winter (for people without cars (freshmen), that alone makes it well worth it), a rad coach, a great group of people to shred and party with, pro deals from our sponsors, free comp fees to any comp you want (that's houndreds of dollars on its own), $5 tramp sessions with the coach at GMFC every week, and you get connections.

Basically if you love skiing, you're stupid not to join.

All valid points, but what it comes down to is 95% of FST really is just a crew of kids park lappin' at Stowe. If you're not some big comp skier who takes skiing mad serious then all those added expenses are just unnecessary (coaches, comp fees, etc). All I'm saying is that its absurd that you can get 2 season passes for the price of joining FST. yes there's a lot of perks, but if you don't take advantage of all of them do yourself a favor and ride 2 dope mountains. If Piecasso still had the FST discount then that changes everything...but they don't

Basically if you love skiing more then one mountain, you're stupid to join.

Jack is on point with this comment, let me break it down some more

FST was $615 this year

a Stowe pass is $400 for a college student

that leaves $215, now what do you get from this?

1) 2 vans to the mountain everyday

2) they pay for gas in the vans and sometimes your car if you are driving other FST members, which amounts to alot of saved money, to drive to stowe or bush in most cars would cost $20-$30 per weekend.

3) they pay comp fees, which for me this year was all four of the steft events, which are $85 each. I actually ended up making money from going to these due to prizes a such. If you go to nationals thats a couple hundred dollar entry fee per event.

4) you get a sick crew of people to hang out with.

5) we get sick deals on gear, I think we get 70% or something similar off of Orage stuff.

I had passes to both Stowe and Bush this year, and got 2 days in at Ellen of the 80+ days I skied, just sayin. Even as a sophomore, there's no way I would have gotten to ski as much as I did without the FST vans. Basically FST=more skiing, even if you have to go to Stowe every day.

Ehhhhh. FST is an over glorified Stowe pass. You know UVM has a free shuttle to the mountain on weekends right? And it's not hard to make friends with people who have cars. And comp fees? Sick, #usasa is real #chillllll #copper. And coach Noah, lol. Real "rad." I've never hated skiing more than when I saw that dude yelling at kids in the park about their skiing.

I'm on FST, I know what I'm talking about. First off, the shuttles SUCK. They get you on the mountain by like 11 and are school busses. The school pays for our gas so that's a shit ton of money. And comps are usasa, uscsa, FST's events, Ski the East events, and more. Noah's a real cool guy and if you don't want him to coach you you don't have to ask him to coach you. You can take it as seriously as you want. Yeah, he can take it pretty seriously at times but he's a coach, what do you expect?

Why the hate? Are you just mad cuz Sugarbush is full of knuckle draggers cuz so many skiers ski Stowe?

Also, why does every UVM thread turn into a shitstorm haha
 
HI UVM is awesome and FST is sick too! I'm an Orientation Leader this year and also a member of FST and an officer for the Ski & Snowboard Club so if you have any questions regarding either just find me and I'll be happy to answer any of them! I'll be there at all Orientations for College of Arts & Sciences! STOKED you picked UVM-- can't say enough good things about them or FST (which is 100% worth the money- vans, friends, and comp fees!), it's a fun time!

Also was at orientation this weekend and had a great time, even called a kid out and got the proper response.
 
FST is worth it if you're looking to lap park, only ski Stowe, and get incredible value for your money (as posted up there). But if you just want to have fun and ski with your non-FST friends (most people you become friends with will have a Bush or 3some pass (bush and mad river)), don't join. A 3some pass costs less than a stowe pass and gets you two resorts.

All depends what you're looking for really.

These UVM threads man...FST is super cool for sure but if you don't wanna join then don't join. No need to bash, each to his/her own

I already brought this issue to the table Brule. her and OP will be banging furiously every weekend. I really wish I chose to go to UVM but fuck it I'm happy with my school. I hope all you FST kids have a hell of a time and shred it up there. I'll be down in Rhode Island envying you greatly and skiing wachusett.
