Utah vs. Colorado (DU vs Westminster)

Never on NS much but I figured I'd throw this one up here.
I'm a high school senior in Missoula, MT, and looking at colleges in both Utah and Colorado. Specifically Westminster in SLC and the University of Denver. (Also CU Boulder, but that damn shits expensive for a public university) Got acceptance letters from both places and skiing's a pretty heavy factor in the decision.
Skied in both states at some point, PC and Canyons in Utah and Breck and Keystone in Colorado. All of them were sick. There's not a huge park scene in MT, especially at the mountains I'm used to. Lost Trail, where I usually ride, has a good setup for being local but nothing like the bigger resorts. I'm mostly interested in riding a lot of park in college but i also dont want to give up steeper terrain and a healthy amount of pow.
The factors i can think of... - SLC is a lot closer to bigger resorts than Denver is. And traffic to Breck etc looked like hell when we were leaving (on a Friday). - I didn't have too big of an issue with crowds at the Colorado mountains, but i was there midweek. I cant really remember the crowd situation in PC, it was a few years back. - There's a mountain about 20 minutes from where i live. So i'm somewhat used to being able to take half days and shredding in the afternoon. Not sure what my college schedules's gonna look like but if i can keep somewhere close to go ride on short notice i'd like to.- Park city was weird as hell. I'm used to pine trees and lots of vertical.- DU's campus was rad. Visiting Westminster over spring break.
NSers from either place give me input. Current students at either school? Thoughts?

My parents worked at du for a while and i lived with them, yea the campus is pretty. Drive to resorts aren't so short

DU has a top notch business program.

yes driving to the mountain sucks, but i got used to it pretty fast.

Westminster was hands down the most fun I have ever had. You can arrange your class so you can ski everyday if you wanted to,

If you want to ski half day before/after class, go to Utah. And ski in the cottonwood canyons (snowbird, alta, brighton, solitude). They have tons of vertical, steeps, and evergreen trees, way different than park city.

westminster yo! du is too far from skiing. although, du is prolly a better school westminster is still real good. i've had a lot of fun!

Westminster is gonna be a better bargain, college is what you make it if skiing is important to your overall college experience do it! I go to the U but did my freshman year at Westmini, SLC is a much cheaper city to live in. Don't get me wrong DU is an amazing school- but unless your into a heavy frat scene and paying out the ass, Utah is where it's at!

DU cheaper than CU? Haven't heard that in some time - had a few buddies go to CU back in the day. Unless of course you earn scholarship dollas. Either way you'll be pumped. For reference, DU is about an hour fifteen to an hour and a half ride to Breck, whereas SLC is ridiculously close to the mountains.

Coming from MT and not skiing park, you'll be way more stoked on UT. Go to westmini, get a pass to the bird or alta and you'll be in heaven.

"I'm mostly interested in riding a lot of park in college"

He pretty much limited it to PC, Canyons and Brighton right there. Nothing wrong with the Bird or Alta though they are terrific resorts with plenty of vert and pow and all the natural hits you could want.
