Hey everyone, I just arrived to Salt Lake City as part of a North American road trip. I would like to go skiing, but I can't afford the lift tickets. Anyone want to go touring and show me the area?

Hey man, I've just pulled into SLC. I'm going to be here for a month or so as well. I'm planning on touring almost exclusively whilst I'm here. PM if you want to talk experience and competencies etc.

Utah mountain adventures does a group tour one Thursdays led by one of their guides, that may be the easiest way for you to meet locals.

I'm not local and don't know a great deal about the organisation, but I saw one of their junior guides out with two clients doing something very non kosher the other day. It's not like it was something excusable either, a profession guide, -that is someone who takes money to keep people safe in the mountains-, should really have known better. That granted, from what I've heard UMA have decent managed and some highly skilled and qualified guides at the top.

define not kosher

they were puling their porks?

did they skin above you during this low danger period?

where they intentionally creating large repeating avalanches for shits n giggles while

preaching this new gospel of backcountry responsibility?

Could have been worse, but the guide sat his two clients down for lunch on a fairly obvious cornice.

Anyone want to ski the Hypodermic Needle (1 of 50 classic ski descents of North America) tomorrow? Circumstances left me without a partner.

- 4 AM start White Pine

- Ski the needle

- Boot back up

- Ski coal pit

- Ski the Y to the road

- Hitch up to White Pine

PM me if want to get in on some of UT's finest.

Looking for a partner for Twin Peaks (Broad Fork) tomorrow.

-4 AM start Ferguson canyon to storm mountain. (Imagine sown line is somewhere around 8-8.25k so half ascent will be on dirt)

- Storm mountain traverse to east summit Twin Peaks

- Descent into Broad Fork via East face or Bonkers

Yeah boys, get at me if you wanna get weird!
