Utah in Late March.

Sup Guys,

First time venturing into the Utah regionals.

Anyway, my friend and I are looking to head out to SLC to ski. He has some family friends out here, I believe they're right in SLC.

We have to head out during school vacation, so that would be the last 2 weeks in March. Looking to ski about 5 days.

How's the snow usually? Will we be able to ski some fun stuff? We're mainly looking steeps/trees/bowls/pow anything like that. Park will be the 2nd option.

What mountains do you guys suggest? We're both skiiers who can hold our own and charge a wide variety of terrain.

THANKS!

Any help/advice is appreciated.

It'll definitely be good. That's sometimes the best part of the season. I'd say bird, alta, solitude, and brighton are the obvious choices for where to go.

right now the snow situation isnt the best. but plan on there being more than right now, thats for sure. we get a ton of snow in the spring. bird/alta for the steeps and big mtn goodness, brighton for a nice blend of sweet terrain and a fun park. they kind of have a nice low-key ma & pa feel to the resort which is what I like. if you want to make the trip up north an hour or so, snowbasin is a pretty fun mountain actually. pow mow is real low key along with beaver as well.

yeah that's always the biggest thing with planning ski trips is that you can never know when the snow is gonna hit. Hell, we've gotten big storms all the way into may some years, you just never know. The only time that you really knew there was gonna be snow was the '10/'11 season where it literally never stopped snowing the whole season. Maybe it'll pick up and we will all get lucky for the rest of the season, but you never know.

That'd be sick! Anyways, unless it stays super warm out there I'm sure there will be enough snow to have a killer time. Almost anything is better than the mountains here on the EC hahahah

bump - flights are booked and we'll be out there from friday the 21st to tuesday 25th.

looking to ski 4 days, so far we're thinking alta, PC, and then its a tossup for the rest (brighton, solitude, bird, etc).

any suggestions?

hoping for a dump while we're out there.

stokkkkkeeed!

I live in PC now but when I used to come out here on vacation it was usually in that late March window. Just be prepared for anything- if it's 50 degrees, head to PC and lap the park. If it dumps 2 feet, head to AltaBird or Brighton/Solitude. You're gonna have a blast regardless, but in that window just expect/pack for anything.
