Long story short, user *YungBuckwheat* was selling a pair of candides for $150. I told him I wanted them, and venmo'd him. He was planning on shipping them out a few days later, but I had some unexpected costs come up, and asked him if we could cancel the deal. He said sure and that he would be pay me back as soon as he moved the skis. I did not think it was a problem, considering the fact that he had like 10 people who were also trying to buy them after me. This was all the way back on February 16, and I still do not have my money back. I have continued to text him throughout, asking him to pay me back, and he has either ignored me or made up some reason about why he can't pay me. I messaged multiple people who reached out to him to try and buy the skis from him, and they said he either was evasive about selling them, or took days to respond. At this point I cannot think of anything to do other than to bring it up on NS. I hate to do it, and don't want to ruin this guy's rep, but he told me he was going to pay me back. He has had almost two months to come up with the money, and just hasn't paid me. If anyone knows him in person, could you please ask him to pay me back? Any help is appreciated.

In the future I would use PayPal when dealing with people you don’t know. Venmo is a risk with dishonest people.

They r literally the same thing

In the future use PayPal and pay the extra fee for purchase protection. Just because venmo is owned by PayPal does not make them the same sort of thing.

He saw this and claims he’s gonna pay me “once he gets his tax returns”... fingers crossed
