Used Scarpa Maestrale RS potential missing pieces questions

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up some used Maestrale RS boots and I wanted to make sure that I have it set up properly, since it seems like a few things were missing (notably a footbed). In the heel portion of the shell, there is a grey rubber piece that looks like it was glued by the the previous owner. However once I removed it, it seems like there is quite a deep depression.

I was hoping someone who owns a pair could shed some light on how this is meant to be set up. Is there supposed to be a piece in the heel or some kind of boot board? If so, does it look like what's in the picture or is it something else?

Thanks!!

Just glue in a shim and that will work.

Probably didn't have a foot bed if the guy was using customs. That being said, now's a great opportunity for you to go and get a proper footbed instead of the garbage that comes in the boot from factory anyways

The footbed isn't the problem, the shim is just to fill the area where that other piece was lost.
