Used binding problems

if i buy used jester pros that have been set at a 12 din for a long time and i put them to a 10 din will the binding become less effective or will the spring be stretched out to much?

No.

Springs do not stretch out. They work the other way, by compression.

I've never had problems with used bindings, and all I buy are old race stock.

okay thanks really helps

I've always heard that you aren't supposed to keep your bindings on high din all off season, or ski at the very upper range of the din, but I've never actually seen someone have a problem because of it.

By definition, all bindings must release under the same amount of pressure when set at the same release setting. When set at 12, a DIN 12 binding will require the same amount of torque to release as a DIN 20 binding.

As for turning down your bindings between seasons, I don't bother with it. I did once, and that fall forgot to turn them back up. Fail. Springs are made to be compressed. Look at the springs on your car, they're loaded up constantly, and how long does it take for them to wear out?
