USC or UVM?

I really like both of them and I was just wondering if any of you guys have gone/are going to/are at either of them and had any helpful information.

funny story- i just toured uvm yesterday, which coincided with 420 day. a bunch of parents in the tour were not impressed.
anyway, all i can say is that i live here and i'd rather be out there. probably doesn't help much, but my thoughts.

Unless skiing is really important in your decision, there really isn't a contest. USC is a far more selective school and has high ranked programs in most fields of study. If you really want to ski, you do have mammoth in california (its like a 5 hour drive though) and you can ski on breaks. If youre from the east coast, you really should experience the west coast though, especially a mountain like mammoth.
Just my 2c

USC is a much better school and you can ski at mammoth if you can put up with the drive. UVM will be more relaxed and fun, plus burlington is a better college town, but it's hard to pass up USC

I am leaning towards USC but giving up the ability to easily ski every weekend is tough. I know USC has the ski and snowboard club that goes to mammoth but being an engineering student I don't imagine myself having the time to go up there too often. So yes, this is a serious question.

There's more to life than skiing and if you can go to USC definitely do it. Pick up surfing and get to the hill when you can. Hood and Mammoth are close for summer skiing. Vermont gets old, fast.

haha solid thread dude.

i'd go for USC too, just go nuts skiing over break, that's what i'll be doing.

did USC finally get back at you with your financial aid package yet?

USC, fuck vermont. california is way more fun. there's a reason they say west coast is the best coast.

haha sup aidan

yeah they did and it was pretty good, both the schools are within a couple hundred dollars of each other so money doesnt play into the decision at all

SC is also only 2 hour drive from:

Big Bear

and 1.5 hours from Mountain High with its 1.6 mile long terrain park

There is plenty of close shredding at SC, plus you can surf and best of all get an excellent education.

Might want to get this straight: You won't be able to ski every weekend because of the engineering curricula. However, you can ski every weekend that you have at your disposal because a lot of people from USC and the area go to Mammoth, Bear, Mountain High, etc.

East coast blows. USC can rot in hell, too, but at least California is more enjoyable than Vermont.

I mean, if you're looking to get butt raped, go to USC. If you want to bang butts, go to UVM. If you want to rape butts in sports and academics, then go to USC.

Unless you're dumb, you can ski every weekend..if you were smart enough to get into USC, you are probably smart enough to figure out how to balance and make it work! Have you ever even seen our videos? I was in mechanical engineering and skied at 120 days my senior year in mammoth.

booyaaa, now choose USC!

haha abe said it all. I'm a mechanical enginqueer at SC too and I made it up nearly every weekend. The club is the coolest group of people too.
fight on biotch, no question

uvm fasho..... such a sweet town and place to be surrounded by ! im going there ! yeaaaaahhhboyyyy

Nah, NS has become the portal for collective reasoning. It's always nice to hear other's opinions

Haha I decided on USC a little while ago, I made the thread to get people's opinions who had gone or are going to each of the schools but instead I got a bunch of people telling me I'm stupid.

Thanks though Abe and yes I've seen almost all of you're videos from this past year and I'm kinda disappointed I wasn't able to be there during your era.
