Yo NS.

Getting the hookup on a student visa for 3 months work entry to the USA. I'm studying computing so a city would prob be easier to find work. Only problem I have is where to stay and work? Where is the best place in the USA that you would suggest is worth a look?

Cheers

Uhm... No.
(I know, sarcasm har har)
To the OP, it depends what you like? Tahoe is nice, but it will be hard to find a job.

Open to any suggesstions dude. Didnt want to be a punter and only consider Florida or NewYork. Somewhere that is pref close to snow.

While Tahoe and Denver have the bigger more insane resorts nearby you could try Seattle too. Snoqualmie pass is right near it and it is the home of Microsoft (at least, King County is) plus it has a halfway decent soccer team too.

If you are a skier you should be used to it raining in town all the time unless you live in like Nebraska and fly to Tahoe to go skiing every time you want to.

The traffic though, yes, fucking sucks.

sound advice. The weather wont bother me that much tho. Scotland gets more than its fair share of shitty weather.

Word.

But in all seriousness,

San Francisco/Bay Area is the best place for that. Silicon Valley is an hour away and some of the best computer people in the world are out there. The only downside is rent costs an arm and a leg.
