im not talking about literaly hitting urban rails im talking about the ones in the park set up like one. whenever i hit them i usualy come on from the left and i always end up jumping over it. its also hard for me to find the right angle to aproach it at.

thanks,

dont pop much and make contact with more the side of the rail first as apposed to trying to jump right on top of it

dont carve into it too much, i usually start almost perpendicular to the rail then push off with my outer foot when i pop to move over the necessary 6 inches.

so that's my tip dont carve into it too much and look at the end as soon as you're on.

hit it as straight as possible but still on the side of the rail. set your shoulders, pop(or step on whichever you feel more comfortable with), THEN turn sideways, land on the rail properly.

continue doing this until you slide the whole thing!

i like to go parallel to the rail. pretty slow pop off my left eadges if im going on from the right lip. rotate to 90° dont go at an angle thats why you are hopping over the rail.

Sounds like you're popping too much. Just pick you're tips up and hit like a straight on.

pop harder than regular rails and bring ur tips up as well, i find it helps to scissor a little bit to stay on the rail once i get on

this. but stepping is a bad habit. Even though it will get you lined up on the rail a lot, If you always step, and can't pop onto urban style rails, then it may get you into trouble when you actually go urban...it's happened to me before.

but yeah, just try to find the right angle. that's all I can really say. The more practice, the better you will get at doing it. Everyone hits it at a bad angle once in a while. Just repetition.

think about it as jumping onto a fence, that's how i started switchups and stuff too, you know where to land if your jumping onto said fence, so do the same on los skis.

Idk if this will help u but this is how I do it.....hop on with ur dominant foot then put the other one down....Idk why this works for me but whatever

Don't try to jump on the rail right where it meets the jump try to let your momentum carry you part way down the rail ant look a few feet passed the end of it.

I used to have this problem too. Go up the rail about a foot away from your left foot and have both your skis exactly parallel with the rail. Don't carve into the jump. Pop evenly toward the rail. When your skis come in contact with the rail, you don't want them to be directly on top. Instead, hit the top right part and roll to the top.

Imagine youre just trying to jump onto the rail with sneakers on. you wouldnt jump right on top, you would jump into it and try to grab the rail with the arches of your feet and rock up on top of it. As for the right angle ive always found its better to come in with a minimal angle. the more parallel you can be to the rail the better chance you will have of traveling down the rail and not over it.

This. If you focus on landing further down the rail, it will decrease the angle between your trajectory after you pop and the rail itself. I always try and land a little further down urban rails as opposed to your run of the mill gap to rail in the park. Or just disaster the dog shit out of it and ride away like a pimp.
