so when u go hit a rail that people usually just use to get up the stairs or something do u have to do anything to it or do u just hit it

Make sure it's steel, not aluminumBuild a kicker so you can actually get onSomehow get enough speed for it (ramp, pile of snow, car, ext)And if you're doing it at night lights would be handy

This thread is now about buffallo

most important part. aluminum does NOT slide at all. you just stick and fall. make sure the rail isnt too steep and the kinks are too sharp. practice on downrails at the moutain first. urban rails are a lot harder than down rails

just run your ski over it to make sure it's smooth, you'll be able to tell if it will slide or not. and yeah watch out for aluminum rails. they CAN slide, it's just not fun or safe or worthwhile in the slightest IMO

well it depends where you are...
if you live somewhere where it snows you're in luck. you can just build a jump and you have an inrun. but here in australia we have to call up an ice rink 2 or 3 days beforehand and ask them to keep their ice cuttings in a pile out the back rather than recycling it. then we have to go along with a trailer and take it to whatever park we want. our logic has been that there are no signs on any parks in melbourne that say you can't ski there, so we can't get in trouble for it.

There may not be signs against it, but you can get nailed for destruction of public property. Also, bring a shovel (no duh), food, and water, you will get tired a lot faster than you think.

you usually have to test the rail for it's zinc content. I keep test strips in my glovebox. too high and the rail will spontaneously combust from the friction generated from the metal in your edges.

did you guys know that american buffalos is the same as a american bison? i knooow, i were shocked to when i found out

a graceful creature, the american buffalo frequentely roams around NS, especially in useless threads that are answered in the first post.
