Urban Rails

Okay Question: what equipment do I need? So far myself I've found out I need lights, a generator, Water(??) and a take off - bungee rope. Anything I am forgetting? Never tried it before so I would like you guys to describe in detail how to set up the "camp" :) +K for those who Karma is important
If my english sounds sloppy it's because it's second language :>

shovel

drop in ramp if you don't have a bungee setup

handwarmers

skis that you don't care much for

Yeah, urbaning in new skis is not really recommended. Have you ever noticed that in ski movies and edits pros are always using the current years skis during urban even though they already have next years. Urban rails aren't meant to be skied on so they sometimes have things that can catch on you skis (add metal file and wire brush to that list - metal file for little nubs and nicks, wire brush for rust and paint), not too mention you might end sliding down concrete stairs or land on concrete.

Just sayin.

get a spotter for cops. Honestly, if someone can spot the cops from when there afar. You can move some things and use the "cross country skiing" defense

i just have, like, 100+ft of extension cords... most rails I hit usually have a plug in (house, building, whatever) near enough to not need a generator.

make a thread saying you want urban condition skis in size minumum - size maximum.

you should get several replies within 24 hours

i kinda think if youre asking what you need for urban, youre not ready for an urban rail. urban rail hits are no joke. be careful and use caution.

i have 2 pairs of 181 dumonts $60 each170 ar5s mounted with weird race bindings $60173 6th sense $75 because i still ride them and would have to take the bindings off176 original ar5s $60172 t halls $95 because I still ride them and they are already mounted. $130 and you can have them with the bindings 168 1260s $10 but that would be a bad deal for you. They are in awful shape
if you are interested in anything i can take pictures

just realised i already got rid of 1 pair of the 181 dumonts. I did find another pair of 176 dumonts though

All you really need is a drop in and a car to get it there.
At night generator and lights are required if you want to film. A 4WD truck is also really nice for hauling everything and driving across school fields and stuff in the snow.

you can use your normal skis, not a huge deal especially if you put enough snow down so that you dont run out onto concrete etc. if its all snow it wont be any more damaging than a normal rail in a park

that said, if that's not the case, you can probably find some cheap used skis for this purpose. although you would also have to buy bindings for them etc, and personally i cant stand using shitty bindings. ive had too many bad experiences with shitty bindings prereleasing for me to ever fuck with that again

i have a 6 foot really steady drop in ramp for my yard set up. its really strong, well built but weighs a shit ton. anyone have any advice on building portable drop in ramps for urbans?

+k for help

Unless the cops a comlete moron thats not gonna work. If at night it would be hard to tell if its cop or not until its to late. There would still be a ramp and obvious signs of what your doing.

banshee bungee. but those are like 200$. just go and get a bunch of exercise elastic bands and braid them together. then attach pvc to the end for a handle and voila! homemade banshee bungee.

does this work?? i have been thinking about making my own....not really down to spend like 200 bucks on something that has a warrenty of 1 year.

Make sure you film it! Because urban sucks balls....and the only point of doing it is because it looks sick on film.
