Urban On Fear

Okay so about 2 weeks ago when I was trying my hill's dfd rail, that I had been doing pretty good on earlier. I went to pop onto the rail and completely forgot to do something and hit both tips on the skirting and flipped over and hit my chest/ribs on the rail and got the wind knocked out of me.

I have yet to hit an urban on down rail or dfd rail no matter how small the urban on is. Tomorrow I really wanna try again since the urban on is supposedly really low but I am still sacred that I will somehow manage to hit my tips.

My question is how do I get over the fear that I am going to hit my tips on the skirting? And how should I correctly pop on? Or should I just step on? And should I try to land down the rail a little instead of close to the top?

Sorry if that was long but help is greatly appreciated since I really wanna get this damn urban on fear over with already.

Oh and +k if you really want it

Throw on some dmx and just go for it. Then when you slay it you'll be shaking your head at the thought of being scared.

take some extra speed and pop big untill you feel comfortable?

no chance youll catch your tips if youre a foot above the rail

hope that helps

pop, dont step on. and if you're trying to pop on to the first like 5 inches of the rail, dont. go at a slight angle towards the rail and pop, you want to land probably a foot or 2 down the rail depending on how long it is.

Put some ignant music on. Pop into your skis and look at the rail like its your bitch. Pop higher than normal and never look back at your past again.

dude just fucking hit it and dont think about it. but before before you do take a couble test runs. one to make sure you got the speed and one just to worry about getting up and over. oh and make sure you commit. dont halfass it.

Word thanks for the advice and what not. But I don't think I will get to slay it today since it has decided to freezing rain/rain everywhere and is just cold and emo outside.

honestly...i used to have the same issue cuz i fucked up my leg bad

What you need to do is just do it. Everyone eats shit its a reality. It doesnt mean its fun but its a part of progressing. You can do it man so just go for it. It might seem scary but go there during the day and look at the rail and you will be able to say to yourself "fuck it" and you will just do it at night and hit that shit

Just go for it. You know you can do it right? So you just have to hit it once and the fear will be gone. If I have a stupid moment and fuck up something I know I can do, I hike it right away and get it done.

Haha Yah I know shit sucks I wanna slay that fuckin' dub kink.

And whats your outerwear cause I never see you..ever

yeah you do ha you probably just dont recognize it.. I usually have black pants on with a plain hoodie and some black scratches.. Ill be there tomorrow real early so if you see something like that with a black hat and spy goggles give me a shout ha..

By the way you dont ski with cal do you?

Not really I usually ski with my brother, my cousin, and Evan and a lot of people from Indian Hill. And SlayDave on occasion if he is ever there when I am which is like never

did you get hurt the first time? yes

are you still skiing? yes

then who the fuck cares, as long as you can ski, go for it.

just go in with the fuck-it attitude.

usually works for me.

little story:

was getting ok a flat rails and boxes so i decided to try a flat down rail, as soon as i hit the down my skis slipped out and i slammed hard on the rail with my ribs had a huge bruise for about week. the next day i got did the rail. and i was stoked.

what doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

also once i tried a 3 of a spine, cased the top and got a bloody nose and there was blood spots all up the hill from going up the chairlift, next run down i nailed it.

its all about persistence and believing in yourself.

because in the words of CR Jonson, "it is too easy to give up on the things that are hard to accomplish"
