Upper and Lower Body Protection for Freestyle Skiing?

I got into freestyle skiing last year and got beat up from rails and jumps basically every time I went. I would have huge bruises on my hips, knees, tail bone, and I even bruised a few ribs and got the wind knocked out of me, which sucked. It really affected how much I was able to go skiing. I know falling is what comes with getting into freestyle, but I can't deal with all the pain again this year, so I've been trying to decide on upper and lower padded protection. I've narrowed it down to two choices/companies, Crash Pads and Forcefield. Crash pads chest and spine protector 6500 or the crash pads upper body armor 6100, along with the thermal long underwear 2200. Or, the Forcefield Pro Shirt X-V and the Forcefield Pro Pants. I've heard mixed reviews about the crash pads, and the armor doesn't look the best. The quality of the Forcefield protection looks a lot better to me and I've read great reviews on it, but it is a lot more expensive than the crash pads. I'd appreciate it if you guys can help me decide on what to get, or if you can tell me what protection you wear.

Get Slytech, i have their crash pants and they seem to work pretty well.

Also watch this:

I've seen that vid before. It's good, but I think I'll just get better at crashing over time and hopefully just crash a lot less as I progress. I considered slytech, but I would want to get upper and lower protection from the same company. Aside from their back protection, it seems that there full upper jackets are geared toward racing, not freestyle.

ive never been fan of pads but as i get older, im not that old (23). I just invested in a pair of impact shorts and a back protector burton shorts slytech back protecter vest and ive got to say im pretty stoked about it!

Any other suggestions for pads by people? I had the same dilemma of getting wrecked in the park. So much that I completely gave up on rails to save my body for skiing. I stuck with jumps, but even those can suck if you take a hard fall. Haven't entered the park in 2 years....sad.

Looking to get some padded shorts or pants and hit up the park a lot this year. I'd say my hips and outer butt cheeks are what got trashed the most. I know they won't prevent everything from hurting, but sure has to be better than nothing.

You don't really need a full protection kit, just get a back protector and crash pants, and don't send it to hard.

You'll be fine.

This. Sounds like you are sending way out of your ability level.

Do this:

Get crash pants, learn step-by-step, and most important:

DONT THINK ABOUT CRASHING ALL THE TIME

A positive mindset is very important

I get it, it is scary, but there is no other way. You could go to a camp, but you are better of by starting small and working your way up.

Start out by sliding boxes, then those weird pvc tubes with gaps in them, and then rails.

G-form looks like they came out with some really cool stuff this year, including shorts, shirts, and knee pads etc. I really wannna get my hands on some but they’re pricey af.

To me, totally worth it. But gotta wait on that pay check. I personally have skied wearing knee pads made for volley ball players for the last 4 or 5 yrs bc I’ve split my one knee open a few times on rails and I’m tired of going in for deep stitches. My thought I was an idiot at first until it happened to one of them. Park is rough on you.
