Uploading Videos on Facebook

What's the optimum file size I should attempt to upload... obviously still retaining the quality? I know they allow you to upload up to a gig but i feel like they will compress the shit out of that... say i have a 15 minute video... should i be looking at 200 megs? Maybe 100?

im pretty sure it wont compress anything. and it all depends what the file type is for the size
 
its going to compress the file either way...also, i'm talking windows media files...

shall i attempt to upload the least compressed file i can find or compress it in my program so facebook doesn't? Anyone have any experience doing this?
