does anyone here go there and if they do i was wondering what kind of grades you got in high school and if you like it

one of my best friends goes there, I almost did.

I had a 3.75 GPA and got in with a 5,000 dean's scholarship. My friend had around a 3.0-3.1 and got in but with no scholarship.

The place is sick, I really like it. I've visited up there a few times to kick it with him. The people that go there seem really chill, and the athletics are sick. You can't go wrong deciding to be duck.

i researched u of o alot mainly for their marine bio and really could see myself going there. Living on the other side of the US (MA) it would be kinda to be that far away from everything. Dope lax too, club team so they don't recruit... kinda sucks. Anyways, real beautiful campus, good academics and dannnk sports gear

if ur checking out u of o just because of the area take a look at oregon state. my sister goes there and the place is amazing.

um Corvallis sucks... Eugene is so much better, besides u of o just being a better school.

I'd only go to oregon state for the brewmaster degree. ducks > beavers

maybe, but there are some sick climbing spots close. and funny that you brought that up i know someone there that is in fermentation.

well im a husky, but my personal opinion is that U of O is siick. fun town, cool relaxed people, pac 10 good education. and yeah, bomb uniforms for all sports. cant go wrong uo

i'll be there next year. the campus in my opinion is sick, aside from the dorms. eugene is well... eugene, don't really know how else to describe it. the athletics are awesome and the kids are pretty chill. and whoever said oregon state, know that corvallis is a dirty town full of child molesters while eugene is a dirty town filled only with hippies.

u of o ftw.

Ha I dunno, I had a damn good time with my friend when I went up for my spring break.

Their floor of dorms had no RA, everyone in the hall was chill and all the doors were kept open. Kids just walking between rooms kicking it and drinking large amounts of beer and downing shots of jager. You live walking distance from all your homies. On top of that his brother had a house about a mile away so party or vape sesh every night and it was never too far to walk back if we got too shitty.

One thing that does get on my nerves about Oregon though, liquor can only be sold in liquor stores that close at like 8. They make up for it though by carrying some of the best beer in the country, even at the supermarkets.

If you're in Eugene, check out the Steelhead brewery. I got a gallon of hoppasaurus rex for $8, a good quality IPA with 10% alc, gets you really drunk but not in the bad keystone light headache sort of way.

what i really meant was the areas surrounding it. i havent spent much time in eugene so i couldnt really comment. i dont think you could really go wrong with anywhere in oregon

portland state? decent academics. but wayy( 2 y's for extra emphasis) too many "indie" kids running around.

bullshit.

haha our photographer and music supervisor starts u of o in the fall and is stoked on it. He got like a 3.4 in high school i think.
if u want a skiing school look at u of u and msu and unr for sure.
all easy to get into

fuck you. portland is one of the most relaxed, diverse towns. not that much crime aside from the meth problem. everyone is friendly, it's easy to get weed, the food is fantastic. it's an hour and a half to hood or the beach. portland is by far one of the best metropolitan areas i've been to. don't hate on shit without knowing what you are talking about.

Close, but no. Utah Pow is so much fluffier and lighter than Tahoes, and I have to say I like the ski scene in Utah better. Even though Tahoe is definitely quality. I have to say I'm gonna thoroughly miss squaw next year.

portland is a sick city. You don' know what your saying.

Eugene is kind of far away from skiing, its like 3+ hours to hood and i think about 2-3 to bachelor, I'm going to U of O in 2 years, pretty sick school and much, much better than OSU.

same with washington, if you want hard A, you gotta have your game face on and get to the state run liquor store early in the day.

oregon is a six hour blur when driving from washington to california.

I love portland and am moving there in a few weeks. But diverse? Really? It is the whitest big city in the country I am pretty sure. I like all the hipsters who talk about how diverse it is when they know one black person in the entire city....but whatever. That is hipsters for you.

Maybe you mean diverse in a different way, but when I think of Portland diverse is not a word that comes to mind. That could just be me though.....

Google search brought up an article saying that portland is the whitest city in the US over 500,000 people.

75% white...

compared to:

Portland, Ore.: 75 percent

Seattle: 68 percent

Indianapolis: 67 percent

Columbus, Ohio: 67 percent

Oklahoma City: 65 percent

Nashville-Davidson: 64 percent

Jacksonville, Fla.: 62 percent

Phoenix: 56 percent

Charlotte: 55 percent

haha i also found an article saying that NoPo is even 70% white.

You are correct, sir.

It is a white town. The african american community is in NE not N portland (I fucking refuse to say NoPo).

Portland still rules but some people here think their organic shit don't stink.

I read something recently saying that with all the gentrification going on in sections of portland like Mississippi and Alberta that many members of the black population are having to move out of the city of Portland and into the suburbs to afford to live. So the city is getting whiter and whiter....

There is definitely a whitening and gentrification going on. However, people shouldn't get the impression that blacks are being forced out this time. (though portland does have a shameful history of displacing folks). It is more a factor of the insane housing bubble and people just cashing in on the opportunity to sell their houses at ridiculous prices and then moving farther out.
