I'm gonna have to disagree with you here, many people describe hip hop as a way of life instead of a genre. I mean if you think about it, Hip Hop associates itself with things like dancing, art, clothing, etc. rather than just the act of rapping.

But yes, true hip hop is not played on the radio.
