I am 15 years old and I love to party and get wasted and so do most of my friends but my parents they care alittle not much and well people care is it really that bad i mean what is the real reason for a drinking age it doesn't actually help u at all i mean sure a 10 year old shouldn't drink but i think that when kids hit late 13 to 14 its not that bad its just for fun

As much as drinking is fun, that was one of the stupidest questions. First off the drinking age originates from after the 1920's during the time of prohibition.. it was a spin off of that... second of all, 13 year old kids shouldn't get wasted everynight. it would cause so many moer alcoholics then we already have... dumb idea, i think the drinking age should be 17 or 18 but not fucking 13

well where i'm from the drinking age is 18 but i think it should be 15 or 16 agreed that 13 year olds shouldn't be gettin wasted everynight but i mean for someone that age its fun to do every once in a while

i used to drink alot more when i was underaged, most of the thrill of it was not getting caught and thats what made it fun

i really dont see how the prospect of getting caught is so trhilling, because it wasnt that big of a deal to me, and i drink in places where i cant get caught so there isnt much of that thrill anymore

The reason the age is so high is because people think that young people arent respisible enough to be allowed to drink and in some cases its true but if oyu think about it all the younger kids that never get caught and always drink are ok to drink becaue if they can hide it from everyone else ya i dont know what my point is sorry for wasting your time

because im irish, and all my family is from ireland, ive been drinking since i was 9 or 10. my dad said it was good for my character. but i can honestly say, ive never been drunk. when i was younger, my drinking consisted of kaluah in my ice cream or vodka in my orange juice. it wasnt till i was about 14 that i started drinking beer. it sucks though, cause everyone knows i dont get drunk, so its always, 'KELLY! BYOB! EVERYONE ELSE, ITS ON THE HOUSE!' how lame is that.

pretty much all underage drinkers aren't responsible enough to drink, even though they do it anyway. so many kids drink and drive or just get trashed to be cool. i do it and its a lot of fun, but a lot of people really are too stupid to handle it.

I think it helps if your parents bring you up allowing you to drink the odd beer at special occaisions or when you go out. That way you are with them when you start drinking, and don't go all crazy as you would iwht your mates. Actually that a load of bullshit...forget i just said that.

Drinking while your still growing and developing is sort of a bad idea, but when your in highschool its hard to avoid. There would be a lot less binge drinking though if we imitated Europe and made the age 16, but still gave no tolerance to drunk driving.

does any one really want to go to the bar and have a bunch of 15 year olds there? cause i don't, i think an 18 year old drinking age is perfect, we aren't mature enough before hand to drink resposibly, sure ive been drinking since i was 15 but do i think i should have the right to walk into a beer and wine store and by a case? no. i wish i was smarter when i was younger and saw that i didn't need to drink to be cool, now im older and drink enough to have a good time instead of seeing how much i can drink. i like the idea of a drinking age it gives you time to mature enough for when your old enough to go to bars cause i know that when i was 15 as much as i really thought i was i wasent mature enough. The only change i would make to the drinking law is that they don't use the day you were born for when you are legal, for example everyone with an 1985 birthday should be able to go to the bars starting Jan 1, it sucks when some of your friends your age are legal and some aren't

i had my first beer when i was 12, little young but it was at thanksgiving and my whole famliy drinks. i used to drink to get smashed but not anymore.

what they should do is make the drinking age the same everywhere in northamerica. It just doesnt seem right that in some places you can drink legaly at 18, and other places you cant drink till your 21. i cant figure out what the big change you go though in that time is.

The thing with europe is that drinking is nothing special. Kids are exposed to it at fairly young ages and gradually given some vodka here or a beer there on special occaisions. The drinking age is so low over there because at 16 kids have already been taught everything by their parents anyways. Over there it's nothing special while over here underage drinking has this rebellious mistique, and that's why we have irresponsible kids binge drinking.

Look at the way IrishDrink's dad went about it. From what I can tell she likes a good drink but doesn't need to get drunk, which is good. But it's even better because now she's not gonna go, get drunk, and get knocked up and have a teenage baby like the in the other thread. I'm sure her dad's happy about that.

I think you should be able to buy at 16 and then go to bars and clubs at 18. That way, kids you want to drink don't have to be sneaky and it will be safer because more parents will HAVE to be aware their child might be drinking. But then it still keeps the little kids out of the bars ad clubs

I drink on a regular basis. Most weekends im out in clubs and stuff. Im 17 and the age is 18 but it doesnt bother me. Whoever said that its the thrill that is good is right, but still I've NEVER had a problem of drinking ebcause i look so much odler thgan I am. (I was doign the over 21s only at age 16). Underage drinking isnt something you should do but its a rioght of passage. Everyone ought to at least try it out and experience the thrill. However DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE thats just beyond stupidity isnt it?

yeah, the age to get into a bar should be higher or else punk kids would always be there so the ladies wouldnt go, and the only people who should be allowed to by alcohol underage are farmers cause they deserve it, they also should be able to legally grow their own weed

The thing about the age in Europe is that even tough it's 16 people in bars are pretty much all 20+ so it works out. You don't really get rowdy young kids in there. But over here you would for sure.
