Uncomfortably tight heel section of boot

I just purchased a new pair of boots:

(2019 Dalbello Panterra 130 25.5)

Previous boot:

(2017 Dalbello Panterra 120 26.5)

I downsized because the 130's run a bit large, I was swimming in the 26.5 boot.

Anyhow, the issue that I'm trying to troubleshoot, is the heel in my new boots (the 130's) They feel excellent when I'm not physically skiing them, but when I go to take a few runs, they start to squeeze my heels. After maybe 3 laps, my feet are in excruciating pain, and the only fix is to take my boots off.

Yes, I went to a boot fitter. And no, I didn't choose a pair of boots because they looked cool. I'm not sure if they need to be punched, or if I'm doing something wrong here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I dumped a good amount of money into these!

Thank you guys

Is it like the actual heel, like Achilles area? Or ankle area?

It's the achilles area and below, really squeezing the bottom of my heel. Specifically the outer side of my foot/heel

Are you not able to talk to the bootfitrer you went to about it?

I plan on heading back in to talk about options, but my shop is closed for a few days right now.

So I figured i'd try and get some other perspectives while I wait.

Do you have an aftermarket insole in there and were the liners molded?

The liners were not molded, I probably should have mentioned they're ID liners as well.

I do have an aftermarket insole in them though, fit to my arch. I just took them from my previous boot though, not sure if that matters too much.

If you pull the ID liners out are they the "Pro" liners with the J power wraps? If so that is probably what is giving you issues in that area since they use a very stiff and dense foam in that area. I'm guessing the liner in your 120s vs the 130s is different.

I ski the Krypton 130 with the Pro liner and the J power wrap and this area always is brutal on my heels/ankles before I heat mold them.

Heat molding should likely fix your issue I would think, otherwise you may need to look into a different liner.

Definitely go back and get them molded.

I think they are the pro version, either way it looks like I'd be well served to get them heat molded.

I'll head in and have that done, and update with results.

Thank you! Really appreciate it.

Are your aftermarket footbeds custom or drop in? Some drop ins like superfeet green have a really aggressive heel cup that can cause pressure on heels. The area you describe sounds like the area I’m thinking

They're drop ins, do you think it would be worth looking into a different footbed?
