Ultimate Ski-mobile?

So I know only 10% of NS is old enough to drive (ZING!) but, in your opinion, what is the ultimate ski-bum car? Keeping in mind a few key factors:

1) Snow performance

2) Ski haul-ability

3) Internal sleeping space (for when you light your matress on fire after coughing through the bong)

4) Pimpability

And any other factors I forgot

I'd say the BMW 325iX (old school e30) is a wise choice, but if you're a true bum, you need the luxorious sleeping space of the 1990 Subaru GL 4x4 Wagon. Then theres the Diesel Toyota Hilux/4runner.

So, what's your favorite steez-friendly ride?

..... a truck. sleep through passenger and driver. pickup in back for skis, snow, drop ins ect. a nice system for the high times, seat warmers and your good.

I've got a subie with a roof box on it. at night I can throw all the skis and gear and clothing in the roof box, flip down the back seats, and it sleeps 2 quite comfortably. I took an air mattress, one of those like 8 inch thick, queen sized ones, put it in the back, and then blew it up so it would fit to the shape of the trunk. So comfortable, and pretty roomy.

oh, and not to mention that with 4 wheel drive with some studded snows on it, it bombs thru everything

what about the FJ cruiser check it out

haha i dont know about that. Could get pretty claustrophobic. Also the only way to shut it is to lock it from the outside.

actually the Thule's are designed well and are very aerodynamic. They are better then a regular roof rack with skis. Although, Subaru's are not very good on gas.

Subarus are crummy on gas because of the 'full time' AWD

My old scooby had a click-on 4wd button on the gearshift, so you could cruise around in FWD until it got sketch. Then a quick click of the go button and you were on your way. It really was a great system

just get an oldish suv like a ford explorer, im betting this is gonna be your first car, my friend has a 98 in blue and its a beast in snow

i wouldnt go with an suv, your gunna burn so much gas, and if you are truely using it for a ski car you will be driving alot. Im a big fan of wagons, right now i have a 01 benz e-wagon, it drives like a boat but i can pile so much gear in it and still have room for 4 friends, with a thule rack on top its unstopable. and i average around 25mpg too, so thats a big plus,

lol, not my first, I have a MB C280 and a MG TD. I've had a Subaru Loyale wagon, Subaru RX-4 hatch (EJ20 biturbo), Geo Prizm (hahahaha) and a Toyota Hilux Surf turbodiesel.

If I could get the Mitsubishi Delica Space-Gear (japan only 4x4 mini-bus/van thingy) I think that would be the ultimate ever.

If I can't import a Space-Gear I'll prolly just find a beater 325iX

No kidding? Delicas rule! I wonder if they were sold to Canada? The microbus market here in the states is nonexistant, and the 4wd market is just as bad.

outbacks are nice, but delicas own.

The US has this rather silly 25 year rule, wherein you can't import a car unless it's older than 25 yrs. Still trying to see if I can tool up one of the turbodiesels in japan so it'll be US road legal :/

The mazda MPV could work too, but I hate gas engines.

haha im thinking about it and my car is gonna be so bad in the winter its an acura integra and i got it all lowered and shit its sick now but its gonna be rough in snow

ahh thats so sick, hopefully im going to get rid of my e-wagon this summer and either get the s4 avant or and a4 1.8t and tune that up a little

i have a 1996 v-dub golf. it gets 35 miles to the gallon and has great traction. Also V-dubs last forever.

how about my ford 1992 Taurus station wagon. huge capacity sits 8 people, plus i got a roof rack for skis. the problem is its super ugly.

^i dont know i think the rover might win. i mean the rover is 1. good on gas 2.has a ski rack 3. has sick speakers
