Well shit we have been there a long ass time but we are now out of Iraq finally. This makes me very happy, especially that I just joined the military a week ago.

Of course. It's good to have any coming back. But then they'll get shipped out somewhere else. Two back america can never worry about the massive massive stack of problems that we have. Instead we spend a shit ton of money and risk life after life getting into other peoples business.

I forgot, We're a holy country. We are the answer to the world. Everything we have done has been something necessary and the world loves us for it. Lets keep doing gods handy work. Rock on america

.

There are still 56,000 troops still in Iraq btw. They are there for assistance as power is slowly transfered over to the newly established Iraqi government. If all goes well they might return home by 2011.

well what America did was pull all of the fighing troops out of Iraq. All the people that are still there are just helping out without guns and shit. OH and the special forces guys that go in at night and kill people like ninjas are still there aswell.

Same shit being said years ago. But that's not how america rolls. This whole taking people out, overthrowing governments, helping militant groups we agree with, and helping people into power that we like is just ridiculous. We need to stay out of other peoples shit and get our own shit under control. America isn't exactly doing very well these days, and we haven't changed shit.

The truth is is that we most likely will never leave the middle east. Not because of oil or terrorists, but because we need to have military bases in that area of the world for preemptive measures. From what I have heard is that originally the plan was to have turkey let us use there country for a base location, but in the end they kicked us out . So we made up and excuse and blew the shit out of Iraq

The troops have been in Afghanistan for a while now. But now the focus is soley in OEF.

Still a war going on but I guess a step in the right direction. I just hope a lot of people arent blind about it.

What branch did you join? And why would you join during a time of war and not plan to go overseas? Its not the boyscouts mang.

I joined the Air Force. So there is not a huge risk of me seeing any combat. But if needed I am willing to do whatever is needed.

nothing has changed except for a little bit leaving. its just rebranded to make you think they're leaving. 56,000 troops still remain undertaking combat missions. and the contractor number is going up to 7,000.

Im pakistani and i have family who lives in the middle east. You can call me a fucking terorist all you want like every other american needs to do when i walk anywhere but the troops are honestly needed in many places. The people live in fear of terrorist attacks on their villages. It is the media which makes it look like the people hate the soldiers this is a small minority. the majority need the troops and love the troops because they need protection. The people are dying at a much greater rate than the troops. The rate of native deaths will only increase with the removal of troops.

Yeah. Taking preemptive measures on people for what you can conjure up they might might possibly maybe sort of do, at least in your thoughts. AWESOME.

Like all those sci fi movies about thought crimes and shit like that. I mean we could possibly nuke another country since we have the capabilities and have done it before. Should people come bomb us to stop what they think might happened?

Yeah that was supposed to sound a little twisted. Look at the shit we've done in nicaragua and everywhere else in the world. We're being pretty cool as a county. Meanwhile our own country is going to shit, our economy blows big time, and people are to ignorant to even care.

Yea america!

we do not have certain goods which we desire from other countries, realized people around the world needed our help, and that innocent people are dying all across the world and that certain locations across the earth could pose threats to us whether or not we paid any attention to them.

Yeah for sure. So many small countries pose HUGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE

fuccillo.jpg

threats to us. We always should be soooo afraid. We don't have the power to wipe them all off the earth or anything. We've done far more in other countries than anyone has ever done in america. Unless politics mixes into wars than you could hook up the bankers with a nice slot in fucking our country over more than any bombs would.

the point is not to wipe them off the earth idiot. The Iraqi government didnt send their troops out to do their 9/11 bidding. The people of Iraq are not bloodthirsty killers. its individual people within the countries that are reason for fear. 2,995 people died in the September 11th terrorist attacks, approximately 100 thousand civilians have died in Iraq, 4,415 soldiers have died in Iraq. Compare 4 thousand to 100 thousand. 25 times more civilian deaths. The soldiers are there for the people too. Originally operation Iraqi freedom or perhaps youv forgotten.

Americans are always so ignorant of the fact that there are other people out there and that its not just our own people dying overseas.

Well since were' talking numbers. And you're mentioning how horrible september 11th was(not that it wasn't a tragedy) Look how many people we took out in two cities with two bombs in japan. Civilians at that. We justify that by pearl harbor, which was a military base and completely free game for any attack.

And operation iraqi freedom, put a nice sounding name on anything and people are down for it. We shouldn't be over there, it's been a disaster. We've spent a ton of money and given far too many lives.

It would be crazy if we could go 10 years without being involved in a war or major conflict in another country. Imagine...................

okay first of all we dropped the bombs because invading the cities would have been an estimated 1,000,000 casualties but i only mention that because "we are talking about numbers" we dropped the bombs on two cities that were slightly less populated than others we could have hit to save thousands of lives but again i say that because "we are tlaking about numbers"

i have family in the middle east area and they know they need help. there are people there who want to kill them. to force different things upon everyone. There will always be people fighting who are less powerful than us. its our job as the most powerful country in the world to step in. we may get hurt but its nothing compared to what they have suffered.

The 50,000 left are there in a non-combat roll... that doesn't mean that they can't kill people if they need to.

Those 50k will be there until the end of 2011.

exactly, we are never gonna be out completely, same with south korea, we will ALWAYS have troops there

Yes of course. The old, we saved lives by killing a shit load of people. that makes so much sense. Like the lady that maxes out her credit cards buying stuff on sale. She bought everything for 50% off so really she was saving money.

As for the end TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE. We always do what is best for everyone and never fuck things up while wasting money and letting people die for know reason.

it's a war. if we killed a few hundred thousand enemy civilians to save almost a million of our troops, it's worth it. Hell, even if we kill more than we'd save, it would still be done.

once again...it's a war. people die for no reason. It sucks. You may not like it, and everyone wants to change it...but it won't happen.

I don't think everyone wants to change it. Maybe more people than back then, but there are still a ton of people down with it.

If we spent the money and the time fixing up our country even for a few years, we would be in much better shape than we are. If our country is flat broke and fucked up, how can we even help people? And what the hell are we going to do for the people that live here? We need some pretty serious changes asap. A ton of damage is already been done but letting the it ride in times like these has been know to cause failure.

yea, there's definitely action that needs to be taken, but im afraid we may be too far in to be able to step back and make the changes needed. And we can't exactly just vote in a new president every time, because all that happens is they each inherit the other one's problems and bullshit their way through it.

The ignorance of many of you confuses me. The bombs dropped back then were to save lives. We dropped pamphlets saying that the bombs were coming and to evacuate or find safety. Clearly you have no idea what the purpose of war is. It is not to fill people's wallets or to establish ourselves as the greatest country ever. Even if we do need to do that to sustain peace it is to save lives in the end. The troops were/are in Iraq to save lives. If all the troops were removed right now people would die hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. Newschooler's ignorance astounds me when it comes to world issues.
