U of U students that work at backcountry.com?

So im gonna want a job to have some extra dough while going to school and I'd prefer not to work in a restaraunt, so I was wondering. For anyone that works at backcountry.com and is a student at the university, is it something that would be rediculously hard to do, or would you say its manageable? I am going to be in the accounting program starting my junior year in spring 09 so i know I'll have a decent workload but I've always worked, gone to school, and skiied..

Also, for anyone that does work there, how difficult is it to get hired in? It seems like it would be a such a killer place to work..

a friend of mine goes to the U full time and was working for backcountry for 2 or 3 years. he really liked it, decent pay, lift tickets for free and since he grew up in heber it gave him a lot of time to go home.

but you do need to think, if your going to the U and going to work before or after class, its a 30 minute drive sometimes more to PC from the college, and with gas as much as if is.. it may cost you more to drive there then you are making

LiveHelp is outta Park City, Phones are out of West Valley, like 15 minute drive from the U. I work there, love it. It's manageable and they'll work with your school schedule. Getting hired is easy... they just prefer you'll be around for Christmas to help with the rush. No flying home for 3 weeks during that time.

For 2 years I have worked for Backcountry.com and for those two years I have also gone to the University of Utah. I have worked both phones and live help. They are one of the most flexible jobs you can get, Winter gets a little hectic and is hard to get time off until about January, but it is all good.

getting hired is super easy. you just go in for a 5 minute interview and then your pretty much hired. i ended up not working there but i have tons of friends who do and they like it. the benefits sound awesome

I got a job there. i work 130-10pm tues-sat, so I take my classes in the morning and work at night. oh I go to westminster but whatever. My job is at the west valley retail store so its like 15-20 min drive

hey guys,
I'm just wondering if backcountry is going to be hiring for livehelp or gearhead positions for this summer. I applied for a warehouse position, but I really want to work for backcountry this summer, can anyone help me out?

due to the crappy economy they will be doing extremely limited hiring, if at all. just check the website under the jobs section and if there is an opening it will show up there but i doubt there will be anything until fall

getting a job there is really tough right now. they just had a hiring session about a month ago and are really limiting the people they bring in, at least until the busy season picks up.

Ya hiring is super limited right now. I just got a job there and within the first week of hiring me they already cut days I work from 3 to 1. But ya just check the jobs section on the site and if there is any position open I would say just apply. The warehouse isn't really that bad but if your looking for 20+ hours a week don't count on it.

I've worked there for a while now and I will be honest, there is no way you are getting a job there. They are firing people left and right. Especially with the slow summer season coming up. Maybe next summer they will hire more again but they generally don't keep everyone for long. It's a real sick job though.

Second that Igot fired for an email that said i wanted to see jessica alba in an itzy weenie tiny bikini... but by that time I didnt give a shit... go for live help better work enviornment
