Stay safe everyone around the area in SLC. Just got home after lockdown for a few hours. Dude still at large.

I think its technically "campus" but its not like it was close to where students were in classes or anything, closer to dorms than classes, but still closer to red butte gardens and the hospital.

I also read the article and it said the suspect and some girl were "camping" up the canyon, which just seems so unlikely. It was probably 40ish degrees in SLC last night...

Hmmmm....gotcha. seems like an odd situation.

Car jackings go wrong all the time. I think it's funny how where it happens matters. You wouldn't hear a peep of this if it happened in Chicago.

Glad y'all are safe though.

Yeah definitely, obviously for people on NS who live there its a scary situation but the truth is this wasn't a "school shooting"

Not sure how it popped up since I don't follow her, but some girl put out a tweet that was obviously here just fishing for attention.

Tweet: "holy shtt there was just a shooting 2 miles away from the place i perform 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳"

Im guessing she dances there or something?? Still, makes me mad how people die and other people try to make it about themselves. Like "that could have been me!"... well it was 2 miles away from anywhere you would have been. Scary situation for sure, but people need to quit being so self centered in these situations.
 
Yea it was wild I was walking back to the dorms around like 930 and had no idea what the fuck was happening, almost got mistaken for being the shooter (had a beanie and hoodie on). Dude somehow ended up in the library past all the cops though

Here's the real story because I saw it all happen. It all started with a woman dashing in crying looking for police around 8:30pm in the dining hall near the back mountain where a lot of people hike/watch sunsets etc. . At the little mountain right behind all the dorms is where the shooting took place. The woman's husband got shot just above the dorms and dining hall. Everything was on lock down, so the shooting was for sure on campus. There was a sniper on a building that was the one that escaped in a car chase. One shot and killed. Both shooters are in custody Swat and military have been on campus up until about 2pm today. I was only about 500ft away from the shooting at the time.

salt lakes got its shit dude, ive been reading the local news bored af at work and notice a lot of weird-ass shootings, stabbings, etc. in the valley recently.

Fuck actually right up the street from my house, this mentally-ill roided out bodybuilder dude saw his ex-girlfriend + her kids driving in oncoming lane, swerved into the car, hopped out, and unloaded a clip into the car before blowing his brains out. like right in front of grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. Killed the ex girlfriend, killed one kid i think, and wounded the other.

People are fucking nuts, look at that dude holding a teacher hostage in LA earlier this week.
 
Last spring somebody tried to steal my car but just fucked up the ignition. This was a little while after my friends car had just been stolen. And then my car was stolen just a few weeks ago and found somewhere in west valley. Carjacking in slc is very real. Unfortunate that the guy was there at the wrong time. And eheath, red butte and the hospital are still technically on campus I hope you realize. Same with research park. So it isn't just sensationalizing it, it was on campus.

I would still say it is sensationalizing. It wasn't a "school shooting" it was a shooting at a school.

Car jackings seem to be blowing up everywhere. I have had multiple friends back home get theirs stolen. Weird shit
