U of U residency question

Whats the deal with residency? Do you have to actually LIVE in the state or just be enrolled for 12 months? I know you still have to be kind of accepted as a 'resident' and you need some sort of proof that you'll actually intend on living in the state, but what else constitutes a 'resident?'

you need a bank account, 2 pieces of mail to you adress, a utah drivers license and if you live here for 12 months and are independent for tax purposes is what you need i think

alright that answers most of my question, but what about living on campus? Does that count toward the 12 months? So I would basically need to stay out there for the summer to complete the full year... hmm.

I addition to this I think the U may go by credit hours, you need to have a certain amount before they give you in-state. You may want to check the website. Cant remember for sure the details.

Oh and as for the drivers license they make you take a written test but its open book... generally a huge waste of time as it the emissions and inspection (rip off) that they require to license your car. (if they still require it)
